THE AWANA CRYER EDITOR: GARY CHAPPLE As you can tell by the art clip, it is time to turn on your outside taps. It is also a good time to check out the condition of your hoses and nozzles. You should start with new rubber washers at the connec- tions. Make sure your fittings are tight. Don't allow the water to drip on your patio. The Board wants to remind you that no means NO. No pets. No smoking. This means that you should not allow your guests to smoke on your patios or bring their pets with them when they visit. Smoking is not, nor are pets, allowed in the suites. This means you should not pet sit for your friends. As cute as they may be, they can bring fleas and other pests. Noisy dogs may disturb your neighbours. There have been cases where visiting dogs have been allowed to use our lawns for their bathroom and they have not flushed. Then one of our members discovered a dogs bathroom by stepping in it. NOT NICE! Guests may use the parking area to smoke if it isn't near a suite. So please be considerate of your fellow members and obey the rules. ISSUE 2012-02 We do not feel we need a semi-annual meet- ing as there are no problems at this time. We will probably call a general meeting when we are about to start the paving project. We are seeking permission to park our vehicles be- hind the bus stop at Seven Oaks mall. We are looking into the cost of hiring a security company to look after our vehicles while they are there. This will provide peace of mind for us as well as the mall manager. The meeting may be called on short notice and notice may be given by telephone. Every- one is encouraged to attend so that you are fully aware of all that will be happening. If you plan to be away during paving time, be sure to leave keys to any vehicle that will have to be moved with a Board or responsible member so that we don't have to have your vehicle towed. A member was taken into the hospital and the stay has been longer than a week. The board was only notified by a chance meeting with the one who took him into the hospital. Please let Dan Wolfe and Pat Chappie know when someone is in the hospital. Dan pro- vides visitation and sees to any assistance that may be needed, and Pat sees to it that they get a "Get Well" card from AWANA. Your call is appreciated by all involved.

ALL AROUND THE AWANABUSH

It is exciting to see Jim Baerg walkingaround the complex and Mill Lake. He isdoing very well but is going for moretests. Both Jim and Joan are grateful toGod and to their friends in AWANAwho have covered them in prayer. Nexttime you see Jim ask him, "Where's theBeef?" Margaret Davis has had her sec-ond hip replacement and is now home. Itwill be good to see her out to our eventsagain soon. Dorothy Boldt is home fromthe hospital and is walking with the aidof a walker. She broke her femur a waysback. Both Gordon Diggins and DaveVan Der Zwagg have given up drivingbecause of their various problems. PatChappie went in to have a scope donefor a kidney stone. Although it showedon both the x-ray and ct scan, when theDoctor got in there he couldn't find it.She started on a product called silverbiotics and this may have dissolved it.We are happy to have some of our travel-lers back. Bill and Audrey Collie spent afew weeks down south visiting family andmade friends with a dentist in ElGodonaz (probably spelled wrong) inMexico. They had a great time visitingfamily, friends and Paul and Nola Satter-blom in Pheoniz, Arizona. LoisHildebrandt visited family in Florence,Arizona and found the weather muchcooler that she had ever experienced

there. She visited Mexico as well. Whenshe went to the flrea market, surprise ofall surprises she met Paul and Nola also.Margaret Kolthammer visited a friend inTexas. All our travellers had a great time.Ed and Ruth Wiebe are off to Nevada toserve at a mission. They will be back inearly May.Building 1 is to be commended for thegreat brunch they put on. Boy can thatLawrence cook! Those pancakes were solight and fluffy. You should try his cinna-mon buns (hint hint) .They're great. Theyeven did some potatoes without onionsfor Pat and a couple others who can't eatthem or otherwise don't like them. WhatI want to know is how Lawrence got thepancakes so fluffy. Mine don't turn outthat way. So Building 2 what are you go-ing to do? Building 4 already has somegreat ideas for June. Isn't that what makesthis a great place to live.Ed Wiebe contributed the poem on thenext page. This is greatly appreciated. Iknow there is a lot of talent in AWANAand I would be happy to make space foranyone who would like to send theirpoem or stories. Perhaps you have taken aphoto you would like to share or have agripe about life you would like to vent.Maybe you have taken a trip and havesome great ideas for travel. 50/7 Help meout here folks or you will get just whatpops into my head. And that seems to begetting less and less. Perhaps my head isalready full.

Later than you think

The march of time knows just one pace,It speeds relentless in high gear; For everyone this life's a raceThat's sure to shorten every year. The sand in each one's glass does shrink,Good friend, it's later than you think!

Weigh well your final kick at cat,Count carefully your closing score,You know 'strike three' ends your at bat,Once time is gone, you get no more.Youth's fountain will run out of drink,Say, friend, it's later than you think!

No matter how you've run your spanOr what reserve you're counting on,There comes an end to best of planWhen every chance to mend is gone.In hindsight, life seems but a blink,Dear friend, it's later than you think!

You've made your way through all these years,Have played the fool and laughed your way; You've faced your foes and cried your tears,Both good and ill have filled your day.Still, now you've sauntered near the brink,My friend, it's later than you think!

There's wisdom in the ancient King,Who sized up life and death for all;He counselled: 'sure, go do your thing,But heed your Maker's judgment call,He holds the key to endless clink'.Oh friend, it's later than you think!

We've had several new books donated, so have a browse. Some are in a series and othersstand on their own with many different topics. I'm impressed at the number of books mov-ing. The library is for everyone and I am open to suggestions of authors and titles. Just letme know and I can browse through book stores. It's quite interesting.
