The BUP Network as a player in EU Programmes andprojects

• The Network is strong and active• Its geographical coverage means it is an attractive

partner for projects• It can cover many themes (ecology, chemistry, physics,

planning, architecture, etc)• It can attract many EU projects (e.g. BUUF, Coastman,

Watersketch, ASTRA) (show projects!)• It opens the way for member universities to be more

involved in EU programmes (e.g. Socrates, Leonardo, etc).

How can you as Rectors help?

• Support to your national centres• Support the idea of the creation of a Foundation

to oversee the work of the Baltic University Programme (BUP Foundation)

• Meet at regular intervals to review progresses by means of a “Baltic University Programme Rectors Meeting” (2 years?).

Our message and pledge:

help BUP to help your university to become more international, with more projects, events, students interaction and scientific publications. The income is a nice complement to tight budgets!
