Each day somewhere in the Belleville Intelligencer we will feature a picture of the Taxman in front of a business or business sign of one of our sponsors.Readers have to name the business where the Taxman is featured and the date in order to enter the contest.Readers can enter daily online or by dropping off a ballot (printed daily in the Intelligencer) at one of the ballot boxes located at each of our sponsor’s businesses CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS 1. CONTEST PERIOD: This Contest starts on 12 am September 9, 2016 and ends on November 2, 2016, 5pm.The Contest is sponsored by Sun Media, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.and The Quinte media group including The Belleville Intelligencer, the Community Press, The Trentonian and The County Weekly News (the “Sponsor” also referred to as “the Papers”).The Paper is and shall remain solely responsible for the delivery of the Prize(s) to the winner(s). 2. ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open to Residents of the areas serviced by the Papers including, the Quinte area, and portions of Northumberland and Peterborough counties. PRIZES: There will be one 1 winner based on all entries received over the 8 weeks of the Contest consisting of the value of their 2016 property tax bill up to a maximum of $5,000.1 Prize will be awarded within the contest period.Prize will be awarded by cheque in Canadian dollars. 4. HOW TO PARTICIPATE: The Contest is offered electronically via the Internet throughout the Contest period.There are two ways to participate – Submit your entry through the contest website or mail the ballot in the Belleville Intelligencer, including that day’s location of THE Taxman to be found daily somewhere in that day’s newspaper.In-paper location of the Tax man starts September 9th and goes till Oct 28th.In Paper Ballots can also be dropped off at participating advertisers who are sponsors of the contest advertising in the special Friday in Paper contest page.Entrants are allowed one entry per day by mail and online. 5. NO PURCHASE NECESSARYTO ENTER ORWIN - ALTERNATE MEANS OF CONTEST ENTRY: Entrants may receive one (1) entry for each day of the contest by checking the intelligencer.ca/contests online page where the daily location will be posted so you can then enter through the on line contest page. 6. CONTEST DRAW: Draw will be held in Belleville at 12 noon,Thursday November 3, 2016.The winner will be determined by random drawing from all eligible entries received by Nov 2, 2016 5pm which have the correct date and location of where theTaxman was that day.The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.The odds of an entry winning any Prize will be the same, whether the entry was automatically generated or by alternate means of entry. 7. PRIZE AWARDING: Prizes will be awarded only on verification by Sun Media, a division of Postmedia Network Inc. that all contest requirements have been met by the winners. Winner must provide a current year tax bill from the city or town that there primary residence exists and proof that the residence is owned by them. Residency must be in a community served by the Papers. Prize will be the 2016 Tax amount on the above property up to a maximum of $5,000 e.g. If Tax bill states $3500 for 2016 the winner will receive $3,500, if theTax bill states $6,000 the winner will receive a maximum of $5,000.Prize must be accepted as awarded and no substitution, transfer, conversion or assignment of Prizes will be allowed which may substitute a Prize of comparable or greater value.No correspondence will be entered into except with selected Entrants at the email address listed on the Sun Media, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.systems, or on the mail-in entries. Sun Media, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.will notify the winner by email within 15 days of the Draw Date.The winner will have ten (10) calendar days from notification to accept the Prize by email, and will be instructed whom to contact at that time.
