The Benefits of Dental

Flossing

Flossing

Flossing is one of the pivotal aspects

for a better oral health as it helps to

bring in cleaner feeling teeth which

prevents cavities in turn avoiding tooth

loss.

Floss is a thin thread made up of

nylon or plastic which you could place

in between the teeth and pull in and

out to clean the gaps.

Dental Flossing

This thin thread helps to clean the

places where the toothbrush can’t

thereby removing the bacteria and

food particles which gets trapped

before it developing into plaque and

tartar.

Some of the benefits using dental

flossing are as follows.

1. Avoiding Cavities

Avoiding Cavities

Cavities are the decayed part of tooth

which is formed due to the

propagation of the bacteria through

the holes of tooth.

This is mainly due to the accumulation

of food particles resulting in the

formation of plaque through which the

bacteria acts upon.

2. Preventing Gingivitis

Preventing Gingivitis

Preventing cavities could lead to gingivitis which is the starting point of the periodontal diseases.

Periodontal disease eats off the soft tissue and bone of your tooth leading to tooth loss.

Gingivitis is also the result of the accumulation of plaque which leads to inflammation of gums and thereby gum bleeding.

3. Taking off Bad Breath

Taking off Bad Breath

This is a common concern present in many people and majorly caused due to accumulation of food particles in mouth

Flossing on regular basis reduces the bad smell by removing most of the accumulated food particles as a toothbrush cannot completely get through minute gaps present between teeth.

4. Prevents Periodontitis

Prevents Periodontitis

Periodontitis is a serious gum disease which leads to the breakdown of the gum tissue and teeth.

It is also found that serious gum disease could lead to heart attacks, high blood sugar and blood pressure.

Hence flossing on a daily note keeps all these gum diseases at bay. Regular brushing and flossing, regular dental checkups is the perfect solution for your wide smile.
