COURSE OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Know applications of pelvic ultrasound in evaluation of the endometrium, adnexa, infertility and pelvic emergencies
• Apply ultrasound in the evaluation of ab-normal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain and ovarian tumors
• Learn how to detect a borderline ovarian tumor to help the gynecologic oncologist administer the right clinical management
• Observe clinical signs of early pregnancy failure to differentiate normal from abnor-mally developing early pregnancies
• Understand the role of 3D ultrasound in obstetric and gynecologic diagnosis
• Recognize the early sonographic features of morbidly adherent placentae.
• Employ ultrasound to assist with the diag-nosis and management of the macrosom-ic fetus
• Develop a systemic approach to fetal brain anatomy
• Explain the complexities of prenatal screening and diagnostic testing options, including new genomic tests
• Understand the implications of cesarean scar pregnancy
• Determine chorionicity and amnionicity in twins and higher order gestations and enhance awareness of complications of monochorionic pregnancies
• Interpret images often encountered during emergency obstetrical ultrasound
• Recognize the prenatal features of fetuses with trisomies 13, 18, triploidy and Turner syndrome both in 2D and 3D ultrasound
• Improve skills in fetal heart diagnosis; recognize the imaging challenges and pitfalls in fetal heart imaging
• Watch representative presentations of real clinical cases in multiple Just Images sessions
