The Big debate – China or India?

Global Firm of the Year 2013

Page 2: The Big debate

The fast growing markets of China and India are often compared. Do these key economic indicators tell you all you need to know when deciding which market you should enter first , or where to invest to drive the growth of your business?

When compared with the rest of the world, both China and India continue to demonstrate strong growth with GDP growing by 7.7% and 3.2% in China and India respectively in 2012. But with the level of economic growth stalling in China, India’s turnaround, whilst more modest has been stronger in recent years, driven by lower debt and modest inflation.

Both face significant internal challenges. India suffers from poor governance whilst China continues to struggle politically. The race to sort these internal issues could ultimately decide which country will come out on top.
