Where Did This Tribe Live?

The Blackfeet lived very far away can you imagine living in the plains with just your tribe. The Black Feet lived in a huge grassy area called The Plains. The Plains stretched more then 2,000 miles. It was Canada to Texas. The Blackfeet region referred to the tall grass plains or prairie region. In my opinion I think its very boring and I would have to make my own fun

Are There Any Special Ceremonies?

Today we celebrate holidays but The Blackfeet have a very special ceremonies. The Blackfeet knew it was time for the Sun Dance when the ripening of the purple Saskatoon berries. Some ceremonies involved painting symbols on buffalo skulls. Also there's a bear dance. They would do the bear dance every spring after the first thunder of the season. The people would dance to the sound of rasp. The rasp meant the bear waking from its winter rest. Aren't their ceremonies pretty special

What Kind Of Houses did They Live In?Your probably use to your house but imagine living in a tipi like the Blackfeet. The tipi could be taken down quickly. The tipi was made out of long poles that were covered in bison hinds that have been sewn into one large covering. It took 6 to 8 bison to cover it. The early tipis were 10 feet. I think that’s small compared to my house.

What did the men, women, and children do?You have chorus right well wait till you hear how much they did. The women first turn the soil using a hoe or a rake. Then the women poked hole in the soil. Then dropped corn kernels into each hole. The men hunted, make war and protect their village also make weapons. They also teach there young to fight and hunt. The children help hunt and sometimes fight. I think that a lot of chorus.

What Kind Of Food do they eat?

Are you hungry well wait till you hear about the Blackfeets food. There meat was bison they would disguised as wolves to move a herd of bison. Their food from the land was fruit, vegetable, roots, nuts, and corn. Sometimes they grounded up seeds to make porridge. I think they grew a lot and ate a lot.

What kind of games did they play?

You like games well? I think you will be interested in the Blackfeets games. The children's games were meant to sharpen the skills needed as adults. Other were purely for fun. Little boys played fighting or hunting. Also they were giving miniature bows and arrows to practice shooting at targets. There was hoop-and-pole game. There games sound like a lot of fun.

What was their music like Did you know the Blackfeet music is way different from ours? The Blackfeets music had its own rhythm. Some songs had words. They made their own instruments like drum, flute, rattle, and whistle. The drum were made out of animal hide over a wooden frame. I would want to hear their music.
