- B) ESTABLISHMENTS / PERSONS:
- Tramway or motor transport service
- As per Bombay Shops and Establishments Act, 1948- employing 10
or more persons in a period of 12 months
11. OBJECTIVE OF THE ACT
- An Act to provide for the constitution of a Fund for the
financing of activities to promote welfare of labour in the State
of Maharashtra for conducting such activities and for certain other
purposes.
12. SOURCES OF FINANCE FOR THE FUND
- All fines realised from the employees;
- Unpaid accumulationstransferred to the fund
- Any loan, grant-in-aid or subsidy paid by the State Govt.
13. AREAS OF USAGE OF THE FUND
- To defray the cost of carrying out measures which may be
specified by the State govt. to promote the welfare of labor and of
their dependents
- To defray expenditure on the following:
- Community and social education centers including reading rooms
and libraries;

- d) Excursions, tours, and holidays homes;
- e) Entertainment and other forms of recreation;
- f) Home industries and subsidiary occupations for women and
unemployed persons;
- g) Corporate activities of a social nature;
- h) Cost of administering the Act;
- i) Such other objects as would in the opinion of the State
Govt. improve the stantard of the living & ameliorate the
social conditions of labour;
