 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little 

time and then vanishes away.

15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."

16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

 

  17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

 Proverbs 27:11 Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth. 

 

 

Luke 12:16-2116 Then He spoke a parable to them, 

saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’

18 So he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my 

goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be

merry." ' 20 But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?' 21 So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is 

not rich toward God."  

Proverbs 3:1-81 My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; 2 For length of days and long life And peace 

they will add to you. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your

neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, 4 And so find favor and high 

esteem In the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He

shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and 

depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

Luke 22:39-4639 Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His 

disciples also followed Him. 40 When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, "Father, if it is Your 

will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be 

done." 43 Then an angel appeared to Him

from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of 

blood falling down to the ground. 45 When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them

sleeping from sorrow. 46 Then He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, 

lest you enter into temptation." 

Psalm 28:1-21 To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I 

become like those who go down to the pit. 2 Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your 

holy sanctuary. 

Psalm 143:1-21 Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness. 2 Do not enter into judgment with Your servant, 

For in Your sight no one living is righteous.

Jeremiah 9:23-2423 Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise 

man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him 

who glories glory in this, That he

understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, 

judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the LORD. 

Ephesians 2:1-101 And you He made alive, who were dead 

in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works

in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted 

ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in

mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were 

dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly

places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been 

saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of

works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. 

 

17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

 

Luke 12:43-4843 Blessed is that servant whom his 

master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. 45 But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is

delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, 46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour 

when he is not aware, and will cut him in

two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not 

prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he who did not know, yet committed

things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been 

committed, of him they will ask the more. 

Hebrews 10:22-2522 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us 

hold fast the confession of our hope

without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one 

another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of

some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day 

approaching.
