PARTNERSHIPS AND PLACEMENTS
TBC maintains a close business relationship with numerous companies nationally and internationally. Our partner organisations welcome the prospect of hiring highly-motivated students. We work with potential employers committed to making TBC the “Institution of first choice” from which to recruit dynamic and talented students.
TBC’s Career Development Centre has been established to prepare our students for successful careers with companies and organisations across Nepal, India and the Middle East. In addition to the opportunities for development provided by the academic programmes, the centre assists students through training, counseling and personal development of ‘soft skills’ in communications and teamwork. Students gain real business experience through internships with our partner organisations such as Verisk Information Technology, Coco-Cola, M. A. W. Enterprises (official distributor of Yamaha, Skoda), Braindigit and numerous NGO/INGO’s. These opportunities give our students exposure to business practice and insight for their future careers.
TBC is home for students willing to meet challenges and stretch intellectual boundaries. Each student is encouraged to challenge ideas, exposing the class to a wide assortment of perspectives. This helps them think independently, reason effectively, and learn successfully. The students also engage in a wide variety of extracurricular activities that further help hone their sportsmanship and social skills.
As one of the leading pioneer colleges in Nepal, providing students with an internationally recognised degree,TBC aims to guide and inspire students with an outstanding learning experience. Furthermore, our partnership with universities and organisations, national and international, along with our exceptional student facilities in the college ensure a wide range of opportunities, both academically and professionally.
- Get value for money with a quality UK degree at a local cost. Gain the same prestigious UK degree at one fifth of the price.
- Our overall quality (student experience, academic standards, and programme delivery) is underpinned by adherence to the UK Quality Assurance Agency’s Quality Code.
- The student will earn a direct university degree rather than a degree awarded through a third party.
- To ensure that students get the education they deserve we have staff with international academic qualifications from the UK, USA, Australia and India. We are dedicated in providing students with the complete international learning experience.
- Linked with various academic institutions, TBC students have access to regular guest lecturers and speakers from the UK and other countries as well as from reputed corporate houses and public institutions in Nepal.
- Scholarships are provided for deserving students.

The student experience at TBC comes with wonderful memories of good times and challenges you had to face
Our Students are our True Ambassadors!
Setting up an institution that values global exposure and quality education was a huge challenge for us in the beginning. Yet, here we stand today! It gives me great pleasure to welcome students from different parts of Nepal and Asia. I travelled to the UK, from Nepal, for a quality British education as it was not available in Nepal at that time. British education has truly changed my life.
British education is all about giving you the inspiration to help you develop your own skills, the freedom to be creative, and the support you need to achieve your best. I am proud to bring such education to Nepal at a fraction of the UK cost. The College atmosphere is very friendly and supportive. We regard each student as an individual and we put student welfare as our first priority.
A warm welcome to all of you! I look forward to this academic year where once again we will strive for excellence in academia.

Welcome to The British College where you can enjoy reaching for your intellectual peak, and working toward the summit of your ambition”
Dr. Michael J. BarnesPrincipal
If I were to describe The British College in one sentence, I would say that:
TBC is a student-oriented, teaching-focused, high-quality learning institution and international centre of excellence in practice.
You have a busy and intensive study period ahead which will transform you forever. Increased global awareness, teamwork, communication skills, and ethical decision-making, are qualities that are often neglected in colleges and universities worldwide: not here at The British College. In addition to mastering the critical tools of analysis and conceptual foundations of your chosen field of study through a quality-assured and government-approved British university, we stress the importance of synthesizing and integrating knowledge across functions and academic disciplines so that you can fully apply what you know in the practical “real world” of having a satisfying and rewarding job. Whether you take a Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science/IT or a Master’s degree in those subjects, we will support you in developing your individual “soft skills” in personal communication, teamwork, and global awareness. In today’s world your ‘Emotional Intelligence’ is equally important as your ‘Cognitive Intelligence’ and your comfort with digital technology.
Together, we are preparing you for positions of responsible global leadership. We represent a 21st century institute of continuous learning and improvement which is at the cutting edge of global education. You have the opportunity to explore alternative concepts and constructs in various contexts. Our professionally-qualified faculty members are not only advanced scholars but include experienced practitioners in their chosen field of action. Our expert and caring staff are here to help you succeed and grow – and also to have fun!

We have a leased line with high speed bandwidth to provide round the clock internet access to students and to enable them to remain connected. We have Wi-Fi hotspot facilities throughout the college premises, maintained by multiple repeaters and access points. TBC’s internal network has an optical fiber trunk which assures efficiency. Our web based online virtual learning system acts as communication tool between students, faculty, administration staff and parents. Every classroom has a PC and digital projector, with power backup. We also have various dedicated study areas available with electric outlets and network plug-in points.

IT Partnerships The British College has created and maintained partnerships with many IT institutions in order to provide our students with the best programmes and internship opportunities.
Since 2014, TBC and the Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC) have worked closely, organizing training workshops, seminars and awarding certificates for student participation in these programmes. The partnership promotes innovation, technical entrepreneurship and gives our students access to the latest Microsoft Software.
A more recent collaboration with CISCO, the worldwide leader in networking, has led to the launch of The British College ‘Networking Skills Training Academy’. The academy aims to teach students about the importance of online platforms for connecting, communicating, and collaborating. Courses are delivered in partnership with CISCO Networking Academy, a global education program that helps students prepare for ICT careers in areas such as network security and administration, technical support, and healthcare IT. The online course materials used at TBC were developed by CISCO and a team of global educators and offer features such as network simulation exercises, labs, and assessments.
TBC has been a member of the Oracle Academy. As a result, students have access to Oracle software including Oracle Database and Java Development Environments and can participate in Oracle focus groups. Students are awarded 50% discount on Oracle University training and 25% discounted Oracle Certification Exam Vouchers. Moreover, our students have access to a wide variety of resources that will help them to expand their knowledge, develop their skills and become a technology innovator. At TBC we encourage and support our students to achieve Oracle certifications which will differentiate them from the competition.

The Student Services Department is the ‘friendly face’ for our students. Student Exchange ProgrammesOur students are ensured an enriching academic experience in both the classroom and through our Student Exchange Programmes. Our partner universities provide a wonderful opportunity for students to experience UK University life and enjoy British culture through their Summer School programmes.
Students engage fully in academic life, attending lectures and participating in practical workshops. Students are encouraged to embrace this unique teaching format and invaluable international experience. In addition, students are given the chance to travel and explore the host cities, and visit other UK cities during their stay.
Similarly, students from our partner universities are welcome to visit Nepal and The British College. The exchange students greatly appreciate this opportunity both academically and for the rich multi-cultural experience Kathmandu provides.

CSR - Corporate Social ResponsibilityThe British College staff and students take pride in helping our community through many CSR activities. We are dedicated to the provision of aid and support to those less fortunate than ourselves, and we try to innovate new ways to do such.
Our Earthquake Relief Programme ensured that those affected by the recent events had access to food, shelter and essential medical resources. Coordinated by CEO Rajen Kandel, students and staff delivered supplies and, alongside the AMF and army, aided in clearing rubble in both Nuwakot and Sindupalchowk. Our most recent initiative ‘Blanket for Humanity’ led by a group of students, raised sufficient funds to distribute sixty blankets to vulnerable, elderly people in Ryale. The students were pro-active in fundraising for the blankets, standing in Durbar Square and Basantapur on numerous occasions, as well as collecting donations from fellow students. They felt blessed to personally deliver the blankets following their hard-work.
To make a big impact requires that initial step; TBC students have taken that vital first step through their fundraising efforts.
