PLAY MAHJONG!
Mahjong is a tile-based game which has been played in
China since the Qing dynasty and has been introduced and
embraced by numerous countries since the early 20th
century. It is commonly played by four players. Similar to
the Western card game Rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill,
strategy, and calculation, and involves a degree of chance.
We have several Mahjong games played here at The
Fountains with a new group for beginners that meets
Tuesdays at 1:30 - 3:30pm.THIRD FLOOR LOBBY

FEBRUARY HAPPENINGS
RODEO DAYS!
The colorful and exciting Rodeo Parade is a long standing Tucson
tradition in it's 93rd year. Each year brings back the spirit of the
first Parade held in 1925. It is known to be the largest Non-
Motorized Parade in the country. La Fiesta de los Vaqueros,
The Tucson Rodeo & Parade, takes place every February and is
the largest winter rodeo in the U.S. Join us celebrating here at
The Fountains on
Sunday, February 25 at
2:00pm in the Lobby
with The Ocotillo Rain
and Thunder Bluegrass
Band. Be sure to dust off
your hats and join us for
a really good time!
February is filled with exciting
and extraordinary
happenings! We are very lucky
to have a private tour of The
Arizona Repertory Theater. On
2/1 we visit one of the several
Gem and Mineral shows in town
on 2/2. The Holiday Fund will
be selling delicious Sonoran
Hot Dogs on 2/4 right in time
for the 53rd Super Bowl. OPERA
101: returns on 2/8 with "The
Barber of Seville". Our Mardi
Gras celebration is on 2/13,
followed by a Valentine Day
party on 2/14. The Sonoran Singers will be perform on 2/22 and
we will go to the Brown Bag Opera series on 2/23. Be sure to look
over the unique and new Watermark University offerings as well.
LIVING WELL
Dry skin a common condition for we
desert dwellers, occurs when your skin
surface isn't retaining sufficient
moisture. Even if you live in a part of the
world where cold winter air is not ever a
concern, most people will need to
manage dry skin at some point.
Skin moisturizers, which rehydrate the
top layer of skin cells and seal in the
moisture, are the first step in combatting
dry skin. In general, the thicker and
greasier a moisturizer, the more
effective it will be. Some of the
best contain moisturizing oils such as
mineral oil or coconut oil. This is
because they contain no water and are
best used when the skin is still damp to
seal in the moisture.
Using a humidifier in the winter or drier
months. helps restore moisture in the
air.
Limit yourself to one 5 to 10 minute
bath or shower daily. Use lukewarm
rather than hot water, which can wash
away natural oils. Apply a moisturizer
immediately after bathing or washing
your hands. To reduce the greasy feel of
thicker creams, rub a small amount into
your hands and then rub it over the
affected areas until neither your hands
nor the affected area feels greasy. Use
fragrance-free laundry detergents and
avoid fabric softeners.
Always use sunscreen even in the
winter to protect your skin, and drink
lots of water!
