The Prayer for Generosity

Dearest Lord,

Teach me to be generous.

Teach me to serve you as I should:

To give and not to count the cost,

To fight and not to heed the wounds,

To toil and not to seek for rest,

To labor and ask not for reward;

Save that of knowing that I do Your Most Holy Will.

Mary Seat of Wisdom. Pray for us.

Recap & Re-entry

‣ Last time we watched a docu on Ninoy & asked the question how do we become leaders?

How do we become leaders?

Page 5: The Call to Leadership

We grow up and become unique individuals.

At young adulthood, we become responsible, develop passions/interests, expertise, talents.

We are moved to make a difference, answer a need/call.

In the process, we inspire others to follow or work with us.

Page 6: The Call to Leadership

Part of that growing up has significant experiences & transforming experiences.

Thesis Statements

1. Leadership requires knowing and managing oneself in order to know and manage others better.

2. Leadership creates change. It requires influencing others to work towards a shared vision and a purpose larger than themselves. So that they appreciate their role as change agents in whatever context they find themselves.

3. Defining one’s purpose for leadership is an interplay of self and context: your personality, your history and family influence.

4. Leaders need to be aware of their social, economic and environmental context in order to effectively respond to the challenges of today’s world.
