1 Don Bosco College, Maram, is a minority Catholic Educational Institution established and administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco, of Dimapur Province, a Religious order of the Catholic Church. Don Bosco is a world renowned educator of youth. His system of education known as the Preventive System of Education is based on reason, religion and loving kindness. It recognises the vast potentialities latent in one’s faculties of mind, heart and body, and it tries to bring out and develop them in a balanced manner. It also takes into account the social and economic dimensions of life.     • Use your given Id and password and complete your application form.

    • After completing, download the application form and printout.

    • Pay online Rs. 200/- as a application form fee and prospectus.

    Eligibility

    BA : Pass in XII Arts with minimum of 50% of marks in the subjects of Hr. Sec. Exam. If not studied at Hr. Sec level, then one should have an over all aggregated of at least 50% of marks B. Com : Pass in XII Commerce with 50% of marks BSC : Pass in XII Science with 50% of marks. Entrance Test & Interview BCA : Pass in XII at least 50% marks should have had maths at Hr. Sec. level BSW : Pass in XII at least 50% of marks. Entrance Test & Interview mA : Those who passed the BA/ B.Sc./ B.Com (three year degree course) examination or equivalent to under the 10+2+3 system and who studied for there years at the degree level. The minimum mark requried is 45 for the respcetive subject perfered in the bachelor's degree.

    Admission

    • Issue of form & admission will be done soon after the Class 12 result is declared.• Admission will be closed when the seats are filled in.• Time for Interview and Admission 9.30 am to 01.30 pm. • The candidate has to come accompanied by parent/guardian along with duly filled in Application Form.

    guardian’ Passport size photo is required. Without proper parent/ guardian admission will not be done. • The candidates should be ready to undergo medical test by a doctor, as and when directed by the

    principal.

    Note

    1. Candidates from outside the manipur Board need to apply for eligibility certificate from the council of Hr. Sec. Education, manipur (C0HSEm). Form is availabel in the college.2. Candidates from outside the council of Hr. Sec. Education manipur, (CoHSEm) need to produce migration certicate for the degree admission.

    Fees & Certificate

    1. Candidates who are shortlisted for admission are to pay the admission and instalment fees ( non-refundable) at

    college office before 4pm on the day of admission. If this is not done, the offer of admission will stand cancelled.

    2. Application for admission, examination and registration are valid only when they are accepted by the University/

    Council.

    3. If anyone wishes to take his/her Transfer Certificate during the year he/she will have to clear all fees up to the end

    of the academic year /Semester. A fee of 100/- will also have to be paid towards Transfer Certificate and 50/- each

    for other certificates. Such certificates will be issued only on the following day.

    4. The provisions of the Prospectus and Hand Book are subject to revision whenever necessary.

    5. The college authorities are in no way responsible for any indiscipline/misbehaviour of students outside the

    College campus.

    Differently - abled & Foreign Students

    1. We facilitate admission of differently-abled persons in various courses2. Provide guidance and counselling to differently abled individuals.3. International Students can apply online using same application form. 4. International students are required to carry the necessary documents along with them such as admission letter, passport, residence permit etc for entry to India.

    A student of Don Bosco College cultivates a basic god Orientation that contributes to the development of a healthy

    personality.

    Active participation in assembly, prayer and all faith prayer sessions that may be organized from time to time.

    However, no external form of worship other than that of the Catholic community shall be permitted in the campus

    of the College.

    Those who are admitted to the College should feel proud to be a Bosconian. The future of the College depends very

    much on the discipline, general behaviour and performance of the students themselves.

    Students must have all the required text books soon after admission to the College. Every student must have an

    identity card, which will be available from the College Office. Students’ Handbooks are issued to students at the

    beginning of every academic year. It contains all the relevant information and guidelines concerning the academic

    matters.

    ATTENDANCE: Regularity in attendance and punctuality are signs of one’s commitment to learning.

    • Any absence should be with prior sanctioned leave.

    • In case of any emergency such as sickness, bereavement, etc., the parent or guardian must inform the concerned

    authority promptly.

    RESPECT FOR PROPERTY: Care and respect for common facilities and utilities are an essential component of social

    responsibility. In view of this, any willful damage to college property must be made good by the persons concerned.

    DRESS CODE: expresses both professionalism and uniformity. A professional appearance helps to develop self-

    confidence and promote an environment of mutual respect and dignity.

    ExAMINATION: Continuous Evaluation is the hall mark of DBC maram. The institution will conduct weekly

    tests, assignments and term examinations during the academic session. Attendance during tests and examinations

    is compulsory. The manipur University conducts exams at the end of every Semester. Selection for the University

    Examinations will be on the basis of the student’s total record of performance in the above tests and minimum of

    90% attendance and good performance in the selection examination. A student who fails or absents in a selection

    examination will be debarred from appearing the University Exam. The Principal’s decision in this regard will be final

    and binding.

    SUBSTANCE ABUSE: Smoking and the use of liquor or any kind of intoxicants / drugs are strictly forbidden.

    Indulgence in such habits is liable to make a student to be suspended / expelled from the college with immediate

    effect.

    CELL PHONES: Use of mobile phones by students in the campus is strictly prohibited.

    DISCIPLINE: Students are admitted on the clear understanding that they will observe the rules of the institution and

    accept the authority of the Principal. They are expected to be courteous and considerate towards the staff and fellow

    students and maintain a high standard of personal behaviour. No misdemeanour or indiscipline will be tolerated.

    Erring students will be punished with fine/ suspension/ or any other suitable penalty.

    SAFETY: College cannot be held Accountable for Accident in the campus and outside (during excursion / tour/

    extension program etc.) The college authorities are in no way responsible for any indiscipline/misbehaviour of

    students outside the College campus.

    Clubs/ Associations

    AICUF : (All India Catholic University Federation) is involved in social upliftment programmes.

    CAM. MINISTRY : They take care to develop Salesian educational environment in the campus.

    JOURNALIST : It consist of a group of students who are involved in writing for the college digital

    magazine, write up for various other publications (maram Times).

    MEDIA CLUB : These students represent the news and views through videography.

    MUSIC CLUB : This group is engaged in promoting music in the campus. They compose and sing,

    thus promoting the innate talents among the students.

    NSS : The three units of NSS (National Service Scheme) with its motto “Not me, but YOU”

    inculcates in the young minds love for service and social development.

    PEACE CLUB : This club seeks to promote peace all over through humanitarian activities.

    RED RIBBON CLUB: This club enlightens the public and others about the evils of AIDS / HIV etc. through

    street plays, programmes etc.

    JESUS YOUTH : Jesus Youth is a catholic youth movement working with the objective of instilling

    spiritually among the students.

    NATURE CLUB : Nature club works to make awareness among the students of the needs to

    protect our environment.

    BSSSM : Bosco Social Service Society maram with the motto ‘Reaching the unreached’ is

    an outreached programme of the department BSW.

    SPORTS CLUB : Sports club is one such dream, formed by keeping sheer passion for the students.

    POETRY CLUB : The purpose of the club is to foster an appreciation of poetry through reading,

    writing and performing.

    SPEECH CLUB : The speech is open to the students who have never competed in public speaking.

    ROVERS & RANGERS : This is a wing of the Bharat Scouts and guides movement.

    WOMEN’S CELL : This club fosters study and reflection on women in society.

    STORY TELLING : The objective of the story telling club is to catch on dialog, use of voice, use of gesture and

    facial expression, pacing, repetition and exaggeration of the story and eye-contact.

    IT CLUB : IT club helps the students feel the essence of information technology in managing their own life.

    SCIENCE CLUB : Science club is a successful approach to Science students that integrates high quality

    hands on instruction with a deep commitment of the students.

    LEGAL CELL : legal cell aims at offering efficient and effective awareness of law of the nation.

    DEBATING SOCIETY: Debate is contention in argument, discussion, dealing with controversial issues,

    day to day issues in a formal platform.

    ELECTORAL LITER.: The Senapati DCEl has selected our college for establishment of an Electoral literacy

    Club with the objective of achieving electoral literacy for the students community as well

    to educate them in exercising their right to vote.

    NEWS CLUB : It gives daily News.

    MARAM TIMES : It brings out weekly newsletter.

    DANCE/ CULTURAL : It looks into the cultural aspect of the college.

    ALUMNI ASSOCIATION : The passed out students are the members of this Alumni Unit.
