Funeral services were con- ducted Sunday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Survjvors are her husband, Norman Hoover of the home; and one sister, Mrs. Willie Green of Durham. Interment was in Glennview Memorial Park, with Rev. E. T. Browne officiating. « « » MRS. ANNIE H. WHITNEY Mrs. Annie Hill Whitney of 609 N. Elm St. died at a lo- cal hospital Monday. (Aug. 16) Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Magnolia Carrington and Mrs. Cenobia Mangum; two sonsr Joseph and Rufus Hill; nine grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; one brother, Eunice Carrington; and three sisters, Mrs. Lcno Parks, Mrs. Eva Parker and Mrs. Levi Long. A special workshop will be held on political action at the two-day conference, September 11-12, which is expected to draw hundreds of NAACP dele- gates from all over the coun- try. There will be a regular quar- terly meeting of the Board of Directors in Birmingham fol- lowing the two-day meeting on Monday. Sept. 13.
