These air bricks are our strongest and heaviest and continue to be our bestsellers. They are particularly well made, suited to a variety of uses and a joy to the eye. They have deep wings and are around 1/2" thick which ensures they sit securely in brick openings. They are ideal to replace bricks in weak walls as the wings can be mortared onto the adjoining brick work so they take the place of a brick. Once the mortar has cured they are especially secure along busy pavements and can withstand "air brick kickers" without deformation and should last indefinitely.
The Tudor rose design comes in either 9” x 3” or 9” x 6”.
They are particularly good value when compared to other air bricks in our range as they offer substantially more cast iron content than our other designs for around the same cost.

These simple cast iron air bricks are light-
weight and feature an excellent free air
flow. They have a cutaway reverse which makes
them a cheaper alternative to the boxed frame
type which is available under “period range”.
The pattern is a classic schoolboard 10mm
square hole design which was very popular in
Victorian and Edwardian periods and often used
along terraces and "at the back" in grander
homes for under floor ventilation.

Hit and Miss vents are so named because they can be either
open or closed. These new vents are authentic copies of a
Victorian design and can be used to replace damaged items.
They are often found in period properties and are associated
with open solid fires, in particular Ingelnook fireplaces, often
used to shut out draughts when fires are not lit.
Care should be taken when painting them to ensure the
sliding mechanism remains paint free.
Sizes available are 9” x 3”, 9” x 6” and 9” x 9”

Louvres are used in a variety of ways and are especially useful
in retaining a traditional look for exhaust vents to reduce
“backdraft” caused by prevailing winds.
They are also suitable for reducing the water ingress caused by
rain and for any outlet where the exhaust needs to be deflected
down..

Many of the items shown in this catalogue are suitable for period properties and will,
subject to conservation approval be suitable for Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian
listed properties. The items below and on the following page have been inspired by de-
signs from the past and should be equally useful as replacements for corroded items or
for installation into new builds and extensions to existing period properties.
Both these designs have been used for centuries and though not especially decorative are
very common in period properties. The boxed frame reverse square hole type below is
similar in pattern to the contract range but is easier to adjoin to the surrounding brick-
work making it less likely to come loose. The standard 9” x 6” is slightly smaller ( 1/4”
shorter length and height ) so is especially useful for narrower openings. It is also easy to
combine the boxed frame reverse cast iron air bricks with others to form much larger
vents.
Sizes available are 9” x 3”, 8 3/4” x 5 3/4” and 9” x 9”

Flood screens are the UKs only flood barriers which come com-
plete with a cast iron air brick.
Once installed in place of your existing air brick the screen can be
used in emergencies and fitted within minutes preventing flood
water entering through the air brick. Once the danger has passed
and the flood water has subsided the screen can be removed and
stowed away until the next time it is needed.
Our flood screen comes complete with a modified, heavy duty, 9” x
3” Tudor rose cast iron air brick, a flood screen with two wing nuts
and full instructions for installation.
Although our flood screen comes in just one size, the 9” x 3” it is
possible to use two to make up to 9” x 6”.

Cast Iron Air Brick
M a x A i r F l o w 9 ” x 6 ”
At last a period style cast iron air brick that actually has similar air flow to modern plastic vents.
This cast iron air brick is based on the traditional "schoolboard" pattern and is specifically used in situations that need high air flow from a 9" x 6" hole. Of medium weight construction, this air brick is thicker than the "schoolboard" type to allow for the larger holes.
A massive 18,000 mm2 of fee air flow is sure to make this a best seller

When bonding air bricks together, it is important to have metal along the sides therefore air bricks with a cutaway reverse are
not suitable. Many of you have used our schoolboard bare metal boxed frame reverse for this with splendid results, bonding
with a solvent adhesive and allowing to set before painting and lacquering.
We often get customers looking for one offs or large size vents and have seen numerous customers using multiple air bricks
to make up different lengths of vent grilles.
For a long narrow vent suitable for under hallways (often seen under front door steps) we recommend using heavy duty Tu-
dor Rose as shown below. Combining three will give a grille of 3” x 27” or four equals 3” x 36” and similar results can be had
using boxed frame reverse cast iron air bricks.
Examples of sizes achievable are:-
9" x 12", 9" x 18", 9" x 24", 18" x 18", 18" x 12", 9" x 27",
6" x 18", 6" x 27", 15" x 9", 12" x 12", 18" x 27" + more
