THE CATALOG
I graduated in Architecture at the University of Venice. Before graduating I lived in the United States, where I had the opportunity to frequent design circles in Washington DC, New York, Miami, and San Francisco. After graduation I started my own studio in the Venice area. With over 25 years of experience in the international design community, I currently design personalized furniture components in artistic glass, in collaboration with some of the most important Murano furnaces and famous masters like the Signoretto’s, Bubacco, Cenedese, and others. The common thread underlying all of my projects is the use of Murano glass artistic techniques to create contemporary, yet classic, furniture. These creations were exhibited and sold in Milan, Cologne, Miami, New York, Montreal, Verona, and Padova where I live.

THE COLLECTIONS
The collections are the result of my design experience as an architect and furniture designer. The one-of-a-kind designs set the furniture and accessories apart from the expected. I offer my clientele the opportunity to have their furniture produced by the most famous Venetian glass Masters, all with custom colors, sizes and personalized finishing. With the special certificate given by the “Soprintendenza alle Belle Arti di Venezia” (the governmental authority for the preservation of art in Venezia), the furniture become one-of-a-kind pieces of art to be treasured. I love working together with my clients to develop their furniture art pieces, this is the fundamental of my work.
THE PROJECTS
Collaborating closely with artisans specialized in the use of exotic materials such as precious woods, stone and metals, I want to celebrate Murano glass virtuosity through technology and aesthetic sense. The collections herewith selected include limited editions created by famous glass masters, such as Silvano Signoretto - whose work has been exhibited by the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation in Venice, the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Japan, the Vatican Museums in Rome and the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. All of my designs are artistic expressions and are not limited like industrial production, they are hand made and freely express their poetic vision. I would like to introduce few special pieces, with a catalog of important expressions in the field of Murano glass furniture design. My originality involves the use of artistic glass to build load-bearing decorative table legs.I also likes to design using wood for tables - celebrating the Venetian Gondola builders. The wood is obtained from old “Bricole” wood, the dolphins from the canals in the Venice Lagoon (a material that is uniquely Venetian).
DINING TABLESDining table with hand-blown Murano glass central pedestal. I started studying the techniques of traditional glassmakers so as to create furnishing components that are absolutely original. The result is a unique tailor made pieces taking inspiration from the classics venetian goblets.

The outer glass shell of the central support is a tea and gold-leaf finish. The particular light of the glass of this table is obtained thanks to the ‘’Baeoton’’ technique through which air bubbles are trapped in the outer glass skin. Bisanzio, for its oriental style, may be used for both traditional and contemporary style furniture.

TRADITIONAL & CONTEMPORARY Artistic glass is a plasmable material that adapts to many interior design styles. The furniture components that I include here span a variety of such styles, from traditional to contemporary, and illustrate the flexibility and multiple personalities of glass furniture objects. All the tables and furniture proposed here involve the use of artistic glass to build within load-bearing and yet decorative table legs.

BERNINI

The function of interior architecture is to define the spaces and the surroundings where we live our lives, designing the world around us. Designing spaces making use of glass means adopting an enchanting system of light and colour that no other material can offer. As an architect I tend to have a different approach than that of a master glassmaker or of an artists who interprets “the project”. Architecture remains a privileged viewpoint for analysing, studying and reflecting on those aspects specifically connected to day-to-day life. We live our life in our homes, at our workplace and in public spaces. My design language, through research and experimentation, does not intend to create furnishing elements expressly devised as production items rather to satisfy a desire for personalization. My works seek elegance that’s why I designed unique collections of play tables and original accessories related to these special furniture lines.

My works seek elegance paired with cutting-edge aesthetics that refer to technological evolution. Then there is a cultural declination in my design philosophy. My Venetian origins prevail and this is highlighted by the strong Venetian character that distinguish all my designs. It is like an unmistakable Venetian signature that unravels a visual and sensorial experience with the classic taste of what is “Made in Italy”, or, rather, “Made in Venice”.

RIGADIN
My passion is to follow in the wake of centuries of glassmaking experience, by studying and using historical Venetian techniques, and by combining them with new technologies. Each design project can be traced to a particular development experience, involving a specific manufacturer with specific manufacturing skills, and striving for originality. Some of my most recent work, represented here, while proudly using manufacturing techniques from the Venetian tradition combines the transparency of artistic glass with new LED lighting technologies, new adhesives to provide unprecedented structural resistance to achieve large sized tables entirely realized in glass.
In the following pages I have created a special section, which I call “Bespoke”, where I show projects to illustrate the variety of techniques I use in my work. This collection also includes several chandeliers, particularly oversize and spectacular realizations, which echo, in a modern key, the great Murano chandelier tradition. Each project has a complex story to tell, in terms of its development, the glassmaking techniques, the glass master who collaborated to adapting traditional methods to new functions, the precious details, and the uniqueness of each piece.

To personalize your furniture we can choose from a variety of materials, colors and finishes. I develop the use of artistic glass to create unique and exclusive furniture. These unique glass pieces become even more precious because of the use of thousand-year old techniques - such as the “Incamiciatura” (a process in which glass is covered first in crystal and the layering of glass with 24-kt gold leaf), or the “Affumicatura” (smoking technique), which uses the combustion of Marseille soap to produce a beautiful iridescent surface. The glass table tops are rigidly put together with the artistic glass elements and the marble or glass bases.
