If you are thinking of a trip to Rome during this year, you may wish to con-sider staying in a lovely and comfortable apartment with all modern conven-iences near the Vatican. During your time there you can also avail your-selves of private tours of Ancient Rome, Christian Rome, the Vatican Muse-um, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. For more information, please call the Cathedral office at 251-1279.

First Light Shelter for Homeless Women and Children

THANK YOU to all who volunteered at First Light in October. For one week every other month Cathedral parishioners provide the evening meal or stay overnight with the women and children at the Shelter. We are currently in need of additional help for our Tuesday evening meal team and always welcome new volunteers for both overnight and dinner duties. Our next date to serve is December 10-16. If you would like to learn more about this parish ministry, please call or email Nancy Heck for more information (205-870-1349/ [email protected]).

A special thanks to Michael Sperando for folding the Bulletins and Orders of Worship!

to the Church office (M-F) by November 29th. It is also possible for gift cards to be dropped in the weekend collection

and unwrapped toys placed in the basket under the Angel Tree. Thank you for your generosity this holiday season!

Please know there are no limits to this appeal! You may donate $25 and $50 gift cards to Walmart, Target,

Big Lots, Dollar General and Roses, as well as purchase a toy, game, book, puzzle, sporting good, jewelry, art supplies

The Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama currently has seven men studying for the priesthood. While this is a blessing for the Diocese, it comes with a financial responsibility and obligation to educate, form, and support these men who have made many sacrifices by entering the seminary. The average cost per student per year is $36,000 which includes tuition, room and board. One of the best ways to financially support our seminarians is to make a tax-deductible donation to the Seminarian Education Fund for the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama. Income produced through this endowment fund is utilized to meet the rising costs of education and forming the future priests of our diocese. The Seminarian Education Fund began as the Diocesan Burse Club. It is a permanent fund set aside to provide income for the education of seminarians that Catholic Charities and grants do not cover. Donations made to the fund will continue to support our Vocations program every year, as long as the Diocese exists. A successful vocations program must be built upon a foundation of prayer. Your generosity will help make the fruit of that prayer a reality. Please pray daily for our priests and seminarians.

Support Our Future Priests—The Seminarian Education Fund All donors will be remembered in the prayers of the seminarians.
