WORLD DAY OF MARRIAGE

God our Father, we give you thanks for the

gift of marriage: the bond of life and love, and the font of the family. The love of husband and wife enriches your Church with children, fills the world with a multitude of spiritual fruitfulness and ser-vice, and is the sign of the love of your Son, Jesus Christ, for his Church. The grace of Jesus flowed forth at Cana at the request of the Blessed Mother. May your Holy Spirit enlighten our society to treasure the heroic love of husband and wife, and guide our leaders to sustain and protect the singular place of mothers and fa-thers in the lives of their children. Father, we ask that our prayers be joined to those of the Virgin Mary, that your Word may transform our service so as to safeguard the incomparable splendor of marriage. We ask all these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.

WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR THE PARKING LOT OF THE HALL Jose Luis Benavides and his company are working on the final details on the drawing and grading for the parking lot of the hall. Soon it will be ready for bidding, but we still need at list $70,000. The total project is estimat-ed to $265,000.00. Any donations you could make to complete this project is appreciated. If you wish you can participate in a future cam-paign. In the future, we need to re-place the portable classrooms, which are now outlawed. With God’s grace and your generosity, we will do it. May God, bless you and your family.

REPAIR OF ‘O’ ST. The City sent us a notice that “O” St. paving and curbs will be renewed on the month of April. Because of it the City asks that we remove the trees at our expenses. The cost will be $7,500. We think that the improve-ments should not heavily tax our church. Because of the mistakes of the City, we already had to spend $7,000 for the fire sprinklers.

A CATHOLIC FUNERAL IS NOT THE SAME AS A PROTESTANT FUNERAL Make sure that you manifest clearly your desires to have a Catholic Funeral, because any other Protestant funeral will not pray for your soul and purification of your sins.

COLOR FIBERGLAS WINDOWS We are now installing the first and second phase of color windows in the new church. The third phase will be installed in March. We are grateful for the 34 families and groups that made this possible. We also thank the volunteer installers. The windows were designed by a Korean artist from Loppiano, Italy about 17 years ago. The colors express the Holy Spirit manifesting itself in different ways and in different people. She avoided images because they are complement-ing the Saints in the middle. The third phase we have angels, Jesus and St. Hannibal at the nartex , it was design by Yanelly Torres. 17 years ago the project was not real-ized because of the cost of over $200,000.00 . With color fiberglass the project will cost $34,000.00. thanks also to the volunteers. We think that the windows will make the church more cheerful and prayerful.

Special thanks to the volunteer in-stallers, especially Cesar Torres, Vi-cente Camarillo, Jose Herrera, Mike Espitia and some other brief appearances Great professional job!.

WORLD DAY OF THE SICK The theme of this year’s celebration is “Amazement at what God has accom-plished: ‘The Almighty has done great things for me….’” (Lk :49). Instituted by my predecessor Saint John Paul II in 1992, and first cele-brated at Lourdes on 11 February 1993, this Day is an opportunity to reflect in particular on the needs of the sick and, more generally, of all those who suffer. It is also an occa-sion for those who generously assist the sick, beginning with family mem-bers, health workers and volunteers, to give thanks for their God-given vocation of accompanying our infirm brothers and sisters. This celebration likewise gives the Church renewed spiritual energy for carrying out ever more fully that fun-damental part of her mission which includes serving the poor, the infirm, the suffering, the outcast and the mar-ginalized (cf. JOHN PAUL II, Motu Proprio Dolentium Hominum, 11 Feb-ruary 1985, 1. I express my closeness to all of you, our suffering brothers and sisters, and to your families, as well as my appreciation for all those in different roles of service and in healthcare institutions throughout the world who work with professional-ism, responsibility and dedication for your care, treatment and daily well-being. I encourage all of you, the sick, the suffering, physicians, nurses, family members and volunteers, to see in Mary, Health of the Infirm, the sure sign of God’s love for every hu-man being and a model of surrender to his will. May you always find in faith, nourished by the Word and by the Sacraments, the strength needed to love God, even in the experience of illness. Pope Francis
