    New Evangelization Corner Dear Friends,

The Feast of Pentecost is finally here!

Throughout the Easter Season we heard about the promise of the Advocate, and in last Sunday’s readings for Feast of the Ascension, Jesus tells his disciples to wait for the promise of the Father. After much waiting and preparation, the disciples receive a gift bigger than they could have ever possibly imagined. Namely, the gift of God's love poured into their hearts through the Holy Spirit.

In today’s readings and throughout the whole book of Acts, we see the outward effects of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. But what happened interiorly to the little rag tag group of disciples to cause such a transformation?

The Holy Spirit is a revelation of the love of the Father. This means that at Pentecost, the disciples had an overwhelming experience of God’s love because God’s love was poured into their hearts! Their stony hearts were shattered into hearts of flesh capable of receiving God’s love and giving God’s love. With the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the early church spread like wildfire! God’s love, life, and power had been poured out upon the disciples, and they couldn’t resist spreading the Gospel.

God’s love has been poured into our hearts, too! Do you know the Love of God? Do you cherish the great gift of the Holy Spirit that was given to you at Baptism and strengthened in confirmation? The same spirit that anointed Jesus rests upon us and urges us to proclaim the mighty deeds of God.

As we celebrate today’s great feast, let’s ask for a deeper out-pouring of the Holy Spirit so that we, too can know the Love of God and in turn proclaim that love to all the ends of the earth. ~Kristin Molitor

How long does it take change to be adopted by all in our Church? Which group are you in? Innovators– 6 months You are part of the 2.5% who are eager and ready to try out new ideas. Early Adopters-10 months This group is 13.5% of the parish and they are the “public relations” members. Other members will ask them, “What do you think of this new concept?” Early Majority-14 months If you are in this group you are “not the last to lay the old aside, nor the first by which the new is tried.” 34% wait until they are sure the idea will succeed. Late Majority-26 months You are a part of the ‘skeptics.” 34% will not adopt a new concept until most others have done so. They may appeal to hierarchy to step in and stop a new “unapproved proposal. The Laggards-56 months This is the traditional 16% who are last to adopt change. They tend to seek others who agree and are usually suspicious of innovators. Most Important fact Each of these groups accept change when they are able to observe its benefits in the lives of others first and afterwards see how it will also be a benefit to their own.

Eucharistic Miracles Display St. Anthony Parish Center at 2410 1st Street N., St. Cloud MN will have pictures and stories on display of the profound miracles of the “Real Presence” of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. This will be available from 2:00– 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15th –19th.
