Thursday from 8am-1pm and again at 5:30pm for Family Enrichment Night. We still need volunteers to make our Book Fair a success! Doris, taught high school for 30 years and now works for Mercy Health presenting this information to teachers. Kids programs presented by Webster Groves Police Department: Pre-K thru 3rd: Stranger Danger 4th thru 8th: Cyber Safety Babysitting for younger children provided. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 7-9pm. FREE and open to the public. Mr. Likens, an accomplished public speaker, published author, avid blogger and remarkable individual was diagnosed at age 20 with Asperger’s Syndrome - a high-functioning form of autism. Now 30 and a recipient of the prestigious Mental Health Champion award given by the Missouri Dept. of Health, Aaron has found an opportunity to share with the world how the Autism Spectrum Disorder mind works through his position as Life Skills’ Autism Ambassador. His inspirational message is full of laughter, tears and hope and promises to leave a lasting impression on all ages. We hope to see you there! The middle school Fall Honors Assembly will take place on Monday, November 11, at 1:50pm in the Concordia Center. At the assembly, we will recognize the first quarter honor roll students, our fall athletic teams, and our Junior Winds students. This is a special opportunity to publicly recognize specific gifts which God has given our students in these areas. Parents and other guests are invited to join us if schedules allow!

The 1st Annual Candy Corn Festival was well attended on Monday, October 28. It has been reported that all attendees had a lot of fun at the Festival. Along with Trick or Treating, the Face Painting, Trail Mix making, and Pumpkin Patch activities were all big hits!

There are a number of bonuses this week. They are as follows: 1. iTunes is offering a 5% bonus until Nov. 8. You will receive 9%. 2. Bass Pro is offering a 3% bonus from 11/2-11/8. You will receive 11%. The following bonuses are from 11/2 – 11/15 1. Boston Market is offering a 2% bonus. You will receive 12%. 2. JCPenney is offering a 1% bonus. You will receive 5%. 3. Kmart is offering a 3% bonus. You will receive 6%. 4. Sears is offering a 3% bonus. You will receive 6%. 5. Restaurants.com is offering a 5% bonus from 11/2 – 11/29. You will receive 50%. (That is correct). 6. Red Robin is offering a 3% bonus from 11/2 – 1/3/14. You will receive 11%. For those of you who do not participate in SCRIP on a regular basis, you may want to consider using SCRIP for Christmas which is right around the corner. If you give gift cards and don’t want to run all over town picking them up, you can order them through SCRIP and make money doing it. Just something to think about. Tutor needed

Tutor needed for 4th grade student for reading. If anyone is

interested please contact the school office (314-822-7774) and

we’ll put you in touch with this family. Looking for maybe after

school but needs to be 3-4 days a week.

The children of Lutheran Association for Special Education invite you to Herald the Holidays on Saturday, November 2, in the Ambassadeur Ballroom at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac. All proceeds benefit children with special education needs in our Lutheran schools. The event includes a luncheon, large silent auction and “L I G H T S,” a holiday fashion show, featuring outfits from Ann Taylor, Chico’s, and Leopard. Cost is $50 per person or $500 for a reserved table of ten. Seating is limited, so please call 314-268-1234 for reservations, donations or additional information.

Come one, come all to the 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off! When: Sunday, November 3, 2013 Time: 5:00 p.m. Where: Glendale Lutheran Gymnasium Cost: $5.00 What: Come enjoy a variety of chili's as well as cornbread and desserts! Hot dogs willbe available for any little ones not wanting chili. Tickets can be purchased on Sunday morning in the Fellowship Room. If you would like to enter your chili, please sign up by Wednesday, October 30. Don't miss this great Fellowship event with your GLC family! Invite a friend! CHILI COOK-OFF

The Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis will hold its annual Fantasy Faire Auction on November 23 at the Sheraton Chalet Hotel in Westport Plaza. Each year proceeds from the auction benefit financial aid, campus improvements, and school budget items at both Lutheran High School North and Lutheran High School South. We would like to once again ask for your support. You may help by serving as an Auction Benefactor, donating an item for our Silent or Oral Auction sections, contributing a cash gift to help us purchase items to be used in our auctions, or by purchasing an advertisement in our auction catalog to help our Lutheran High Schools "Nurture Christian Hearts and Build Strong Minds." To donate an item or cash, or if you would like to place an ad in our catalog, please call the Association office at 314-382-6650 or email [email protected].
