Summer is almost here!

Teachers of the year

Home of

the dolphins!

It’s almost summer. Soon it will be time to

relax, spend time outside, visit friends, and

enjoy your time as a family. But don’t stop

reading. Make it part of your family’s sum-

mer fun. Research shows children lose one to

three months of learning every summer. They

lose math and reading skills they worked

hard to acquire during the school year. Then

they have to work even harder to catch up in

the fall. You can help prevent this summer

learning loss. If your child is longing for ad-

venture this summer, take a trip to the li-

brary. With a little imagination and a li-

brary card, kids can explore new places,

meet new people, and discover new things.

They can borrow as many adventure-filled

books as they choose, for free! Kids can also

participate in the reading clubs, story hours,

puppet shows, and other fun family activities

your library offers during the summer. ~Reading is Fundamental, 2012~

administrative team The final stretch is before us! Your children have grown so much since the beginning of the

school year. They have matured emotionally and academically, as well. We are so proud of all

our Waterstone Dolphins for studying so hard and doing so well on their standardized assess-

ments.

There are only a few weeks of school left, but we would like to remind you that attendance is

still very important. Students are being prepared for promotion to the next grade level, so we ask

that you continue to bring them to school on time and prepared. We wouldn’t want them to miss

out on the fun activities that are being planned. We also ask that the dress code be upheld. Stu-

dents must continue to be in full uniform which includes their Student ID.

On behalf of the CSW Administrative Team; we wish you all a safe, fun-filled summer vaca-

tion!

Congratulations to all our Dolphins on the completion of another successful testing sea-

son. We are very proud of our Dolphins for trying their best on the test. We have sever-

al fun activities planned for our students in the next couple weeks as we close off the

school year. In order to maximize the “FUN” factor we ask that everyone be on their

very best behavior and follow the rules at all times; this includes uniform and special

dress down days. For example, field day will require class shirts and shorts but they

must be Bermuda length shorts. For Kindergarten and 5th grade Graduation, students

will be asked to dress up for the ceremony and asked to wear dressy shoes but the shoes

must we closed toe and closed back. We ask that you please adhere to the rules and read

all communication from your child’s teacher carefully. Get ready… Summer is right

around the corner!

Dear Waterstone Families,

I would like to congratulate all of our students and teachers for successfully conquering

the SAT and FSA exams! Now it is the time of year that we all enjoy…free of testing

and full of engaging learning experiences! We have many exciting end of the year activ-

ities coming up this month so it is very important to keep informed. Please don’t hesi-

tate to contact your child’s teacher or our front office with any questions or concerns.

Please don’t forget to contact your child’s teacher to find out in what ways you can vol-

unteer. The Charter School at Waterstone has a 10 hour per family annual volunteer re-

quirement. Thank you for all of the support and dedication that has been shown to us

this school year. We truly appreciate it and believe that the partnership between the

home and the school is an important bridge for learning.
