Cheatham Students Earn 2nd Place, Headed to the DI State Tournament
Six teams from Cheatham Elementary attended the NeXT Regional Des-
tination ImagiNation Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 26 in Frisco. The Tournament consisted of 321 DI Teams, the largest DI Region in the
NATION! Each of Cheatham’s competitive teams placed in the tourna-ment and we have a 3rd/4th Grade team that is moving on to the State
Tournament!

Cheatham’s Family Day at Dr. Pepper Ballpark is Sun, May 15 at 2pm The RoughRiders are hosting the Corpus Christi Hooks Sunday, May 15 at 2pm and Cheatham Ele-mentary is invited. Bring the whole family out for America’s favorite pastime! This is a 6th grade fundraiser to help support their end-of-year party, but it is open to all Cheatham students and their families to attend. Ticket prices are only $20 each and include a great seat, a baseball cap and all-you-can eat food and Dr. Pepper products. Order forms were sent home with your student. Please send in your order form with your check (made payable to Cheatham PTA) to your child's teacher, or stop by our table at Open House (Thurs. March 10, from 5:30-7pm) to purchase your tickets. The deadline to order is Friday, April 1, so act now before all of the seats are gone!

creating and presenting a Sales Promotion that highlighted the equipment they were required to
DESIGN and BUILD to move objects from a tow-

Team accepted DI’s Fine Arts Challenge…Triple Take Road Show. Each team was required to
create a Road Show that would travel and be
presented to three different audiences of their choosing. One show had to include a Special
Effect, or as DI calls it a Technical Spectacle!

Two 2nd Grade Teams participated in DI’s Ris-
ing Star (non-competitive) division, where they were challenged with solving “Big Bug’s Bad
Day”. Each team had to identify a character for each team member, write a script to identify
“Big Bug’s” problem and have the cast help
solve the issue, build their costumes and props and perform their play within an 8-minute time-
frame. GREAT JOB 2nd Graders!

Cheatham DI Teams Place at Regional Tournament
Mrs. Henderson is excited to announce that March is Youth Art Month
and in celebration, the following Cheatham artists had artwork cho-sen to be part of a display at the Allen Public Library. The display will
be up during the month of March, so next time you are at the library check out their artwork as well as artwork from all the elementary
schools in Allen.

Cheatham Lost & Found is at capacity! All parents are encouraged to stop
by the Lost & Found rack at Cheatham in the front lobby by Friday, March
11 to look for missing coats, hats, mittens, scarves, water bottles, etc. All
items remaining on the Lost & Found rack by 3pm Friday, March 11 will be
donated to ACO during Spring Break. Thank you for your cooperation!

“Kindergarten Roundup” is Thurs., March 24 from 3:30-5:30pm at all
elementary campuses. The roundup begins the kindergarten registra-tion process for the 2011-2012 school year. Registration packets are
available at the elementary schools. Parents of current Cheatham students wishing to enroll an incoming Kindergarten sibling, may re-
turn completed packets to the Cheatham Office until March 23. They
will not need to attend the Roundup on March 24. Children enrolling in other grades may do so on or after March 25.

Rachel's Challenge is a program based on Rachel Joy Scott's dream of
bringing KINDNESS and COMPASSION to the world. We are looking forward to our community-wide Rachel's Rally on Tuesday, May 10 at
7pm at the Allen Eagle Stadium. Rachel's father, Darrell Scott, will be here to celebrate the many acts of KINDNESS and COMPASSION
shown by AISD students. You and your child don't want to miss this
exciting event where we will display our chain links that we have been collecting all year! Would you like to help sponsor the Rally? The dead-
line to submit sponsor packages is March 11. Please make checks pay-able to: Green Elementary PTA. Sponsor packages can be picked up at

Rachel’s Challenge Rally is May 10
School Picture Day is Thursday, March 10, during school hours
Individual and class pictures will be taken at Cheatham on Thursday,
March 10, in the morning. Please mark your calendars and have every-one dressed up for their portraits on that day!

Cheatham Open House is Thursday, March 10 from 5:30-7pm
Book Fair
April 11-15
All Allen ISD elementary schools will be hosting open houses for par-
ents on Thursday, March 10. Cheatham’s open house is scheduled from 5:30-7pm. It’s a come-and-go event and all family members are
welcome. The open house allows teachers to share classroom programs with
parents. It’s a great opportunity for your student to show off their
work, introduce their friends and give you a tour of the building.
