Hello, my name is Daniel and I am an entrepreneur.

If you are anything like me (which I’m guessing you are or else you wouldn’t be here), you may have been trying to figure out how to actually get started on your business idea or get your business off the ground.

I remember when I first started working on my online fitness business, and I was literally lost. I didn’t know how to get a URL (website), I didn’t understand what a pixel was, and I didn’t know what retargeting meant or how to even start with targeting.

I was a kid in his early 20’s, who just had gotten into a lot of debt from college, without gaining one skill that would even help me advance in life.

And I’m sorry, ‘speech’ class doesn’t even count.

I found myself in a place where I had to do a ton of research, reading and browsing the internet to even figure out what would fit well with a business model like mine.

At the time of starting my business, the tools were pretty bad, and pretty expensive (which is a big disadvantage if you don’t have any money).

What I found out over the next few years was that if I focused on the RIGHT TOOLS to use, I would see an enormous growth in my business

(went from $2,000/month to more than $15,000 a month by adding a few simple tools that helped scale the business.)

I was amazed, not understanding why I hadn’t been told that the fact was I didn’t need a crazy complicated email marketing software that could do 8,000 things (99% of which I’d never use) and several more tools that would cost me so much money but not add to the growth of my income.

Because of this, as I grew my business to be more successful, I realized that if I could help those beginning their journey through entrepreneurship, then I could truly give you a shortcut to success.

You may ask me why I wanted to be generous with my time to put together this amazing checklist that will truly help your idea/business grow and scale exponentially, and I’ll be honest with you.

I’m a bit selfish.

I know that if you truly utilize these tools, some of which are tools that you can use for a very long time, others that will help you on the learning journey toward online business success, you will eventually come back to me to possibly work together.

These are some of the essentials you should have to really build something special and incredible.

The fact is, it doesn’t take rocket science to create an online business anymore.

If you have the right tools, that’s all you really need to build an online business.

The following tools are the essentials I believe would be the most helpful in bringing prospective leads through a reliable customer journey.

You may not be familiar with Digital Marketer, but they have an incredible resource on optimizing the Customer Journey, which I’ll share with you in this list.

You’ll find that each item builds upon the other. I break down this list to must haves, then I begin to tier the checklist into additional tools that would be helpful, but not essential.

You’ll find that the first few are so easy to set up, that it should take you less than 10 minutes to do so (which I highly encourage you to take the time to do so).

Once you have these set up, then you’ll want to take time to finalize the rest of the possible tools you may need, but this list was meant to be something you

can look back on in the future.

I would highly recommend that you screenshot the list for future reference if you’re on your phone, or save it to a super special folder on your computer.

Either way, I truly believe this list will help get you well on your way to the foundations of building a successful online business.

THE CHECKLIST

THE MUST HAVESGodaddy (website/url)

Godaddy is my go-to (see what I did there) for my web-

hosting services. They do an incredible job hosting my and my

clients websites and it’s extremely easy to setup and it is very

inexpensive (as low as $.99 for a url) -- this makes Godaddy my

favorite web hosting platform, and makes it extremely easy to set

up. Tip: Do not use their additional services, we will cover where

your website will live in the next checklist item

Kajabi (website, email marketing, payment processor, course builder)

With Kajabi, you will find that it’s ease of use and user-friendly

user experience pays for itself in such a short time. To have a

reliable email marketing platform, website platform, online course

platform, customer relationship management tool, and payment

processing system all in one place is magic to my ears and to

my bank account. The combination of those services cost well

over $100+ a month combined, with Kajabi, it just makes sense to

consolidate all those services into one place. I highly recommend.

Best for those looking to build online courses and educate their

customer/client base.

Cloudfare

You can use cloudfare to make your website have a secure SSL

certificate. This is extremely important when people are trusting

you to take their money. One of the biggest red flags people have

is if someone doesn’t have the https before their URL. It’s almost

mandatory for all payment processing systems, and cloudfare

makes it easy for you to set your website up with this. Note: If you

end up using Kajabi as your platform, they have an incredible

walkthrough on how to get your cloudfare set up with your URL.

Clickfunnels One Funnel Away Challenge

30 Day Challenge to get your hands wet, and also to help you

get your first leads & sales through the door. Clickfunnels is one

of the highest converting softwares out there and online business-

friendly ways to generate leads, sell products, and create

amazing funnels that are seamless and easy to implement. If you

want to take your idea to reality and begin to sell your product

(that you may or may not have yet), I highly recommend going

through this challenge!

Typeform

Typeform is a tool that I believe more and more people are

realizing is just a spectacular tool. It takes just a few minutes to set

up and create your first survey/application/assessment, and if you

are gathering information about a possible lead and want a fast

way to create something to collect their information, this is hands

down the best way to do it.

Google analytics (setup)

Google analytics is an AMAZING tool, but few know how to use it.

For now, just make sure to get your google analytics set up.

Facebook business manager and pixels (Facebook & Instagram Ads & Pixels)

Facebook. Everyone is either talking about Facebook ads, or

they’re talking about how Facebook is dead. But the fact is, you

need to have a strong presence on Facebook as you will need to

get traffic through both Facebook and Instagram (and Facebook

owns Instaaaaa)

Spark (Love Your Email Again)

Last (but not least) in the essentials, Spark! The mantra at Spark

is “Love your email again.” I am not sure what sane person loves

their email (especially as a business owner) but Spark goes a long

way to help make sure you see the most important things first. It’s

free to sign up. Mac & PC native apps..phone app..it’s AMAZING.

Shopify

Well, if you’re doing any type of ecommerce, you need Shopify.

Shopify takes care of the back-end work and there are countless

apps that you can connect to Shopify making it the most robust

tool for ecommerce companies. If you are selling a physical

product or dropshipping a product, you need shopify.

Mailchimp

Tried and true, Mailchimp has been a stalwart in email marketing

and isn’t going anywhere soon. If you are using something other

than Kajabi for your CMS (content management system aka

website) then you will likely be needing an email marketing tool.

Mailchimp is simple, easy to use, but also has robust tools to use

for automations and integrates with almost every tool out there.

WOULD BE NICEProof (increase conversions)

Proof is a tool that I use with all my clients to boost conversion

rates. Every time I A/B test sales pages that don’t have proof and

those that do, I find the conversion rate is drastically higher when

using this tool.

Expert Secrets & Dotcom Secrets

These two books are written by Russell Brunson, and I believe

that they are two cornerstones for any and all business owners or

marketers for the 21st century. Your customer journey is the top

priority and should be treated as such. Make sure to grab one or

both of these books to give you insight on how to scale and grow

your business.

Calendly or Acuity Scheduling

Use one of these tools to use for scheduling any customers or

clients in the customer journey -- this is usually a bit further down

in your customer journey and value ladder as your front end value

ladder should definitely be automated.
