President’s Message

Dear Chapter Members:

We have escaped most of winter to this point and I can say I am ready for spring. With spring comes the chapter spring celebration dinner on March 14, 2012. This celebration evening is to celebrate acute and critical care nurses in the chapter, and our nursing community, bringing recognition to certification for CCRN and PCCN members. We are lucky to have Dr. Paula Lusardi as our speaker this year. Paula is going to speak on the AACN Healthy Work Environment standards that she helped AACN develop when she was on the national board. Please join us for a great evening to celebrate what we do every day.

As with AACN initiatives, we have been going “greener” the past few years and are happy to say it is working. We put all programs, events, membership applications and program registration on the chapter website. There has been a lot of positive feedback to our emailing chapter events and this newsletter to you. We are always trying to improve our ability to stay connected to all members so please keep us updated if you change your email, or if you have suggestions that can make us more efficient with electronic communication.

The Board of the Greater Boston Chapter of AACN invites all members to consider working with or being on the board. We are going to be asking you for nominations for upcoming board positions and ask that you nominate a colleague that you admire, respect and feel honors the mission and values of AACN when caring for patients. You will be getting call for nominations email soon, so start thinking of who you would like to nominate. As always you are welcome to attend board meetings. We plan monthly board meetings to coordinate with educational sessions. Feel free to stay later and attend any meeting.

As we look forward to spring we know summer is just around the corner. We hope to see you at Horizons in April or NTI in May, or at our spring celebration dinner.

Together, Stronger, Bolder
