Ms. Jyoti Choudhary Director SCERT, Haryana was the Chief Guest in the morning slot. she appreciated the efforts of all prize winners and stressed on inculcating values in todays generation. R. K Singh ADC ,Secretary RTO , Gurugram graced the occasion as chief guest for the second slot. Mr. Singh congratulated students for their achievement and encouraged them with his inspiring words to achieve the pinnacles of success. The School Song and National anthem brought the curtains down on an event that will surely linger long in the mem- ories of all winners and their parents.

Annual Prize Distribution ceremony

The students gave an enthralling performance through classical dances melodious group song and cho-rus rhyming. The western dance presentation put up by Grade I mesmerized audience in both the slots. School prin-cipal Arti Chopra congratulated the awardees and motivated them for further excellence. Students were awarded in 27 different categories. Junior School’s Annual Day—AMIMITRE

The school celebrated its Junior School Annual Day on April 14 ,2018, in the school premises. The chief guest, Shri Rajesh Bhushan, IAS, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, graced the occasion. The dignitaries were welcomed by the musical beats of the school band followed by the inauguration of the Heritage exhibition – Vithika by Chairperson Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan. Students also performed a ‘Nukkad natak titled ‘Nadion ka Mahatv’. The programme titled ‘Amimitre’- Nurturing Friendship’, commenced with an enthralling “Sursukha‟- -an orchestra presentation, a melodious blend of both instrumental and vocal performance. It was an amalgamation of Indian and International Music portraying the fusion of the Orient East and the Oxidant West pre-sented by around 125 students of the primary school. IT was dedicated to Dr. BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his 127

th birth anniversary.

This was followed by the presentation of the Annual report by the School Principal , Mrs. Arti Chopra wherein she spoke about the diversified achievements of students in Academics, comprising of the excellent CBSE results, co-curricular activities, sports etc. including national and international achievements. It was a special musical perfor-mance ‘Bandhutva’ by the students of Amitasha. Later the headmistress, Ms. Sonia Nagpal shared the vision and mission of the Primary school. She was accompanied by primary students who shared the prominent activities done in the primary school over the session 2017-18 Subsequently there was a Special Awards ceremony for the merito-rious students for their special achievements. The programme Amimitre was then inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp. It was a depiction of friendship and long lasting bonds between various components of nature with the living beings on earth. The guests lauded the cultural programme which ended with the grand finale fol-lowed by the school song. Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, lauded the efforts of the entire team of AIS 46.

STUDY IN UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

The school organized a workshop on Prepare to “Study in University of

Southern California” in collaboration with Amity Career Counseling and

Guidance cell (ACCGC) AKC House. The Guest Speaker for the work-

shop was Ms. Julie Chiu, International Admission Officer from University

of Southern California and Ms. Taruna Bharthwal, Manager, of Amity Ca-

reer Counseling and Guidance Cell.

Parents, Students and Counselors (of grade 9-12) with a total of 110 stu-

dents and three counselors from three different branches of schools of

Amity, namely from, Gurgaon 46 and 43, Amity Global School, Gurgaon,

attended the workshop. The Program started with lighting of lamp, post

that the Principal, Ms. Arti Chopra, welcomed the guest Ms. Julie Chiu

and Ms. Taruna Bathwal.

Ms. Julie Chiu outlined the structure of the campus of University of South-

ern California (USC), with students representing 135 countries around the

world .She apprised them that students can participate in faculty-led or

original research projects, earn fellowships or scholarships to support the

research projects and thus prepare for advanced studies or the career of

one’s choice.

Ms. Chiu also talked about the campus life. where students live near or on

the campus. Incoming students stay in houses in residential college and

are guaranteed housing for their first two years of studies. The admission

process at USC takes into consideration a variety of factors which include

the academic performance, the rigor of student’s curriculum, writing abil-

ity, ACT/ SAT scores, extra-curricular and community service. After the

presentation, there was an open house for question and answer. The

workshop ended with the vote of thanks by Taruna Barthwal.

MONITOR INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The school organized the Monitor Investiture Ceremony for the Class Monitors on 5th April, 2018. The cer-emony began by the rendition of a Morning prayer song by the school choir followed by the school Assem-bly and the introduction of the Class Monitors. Our school Principal Ms. Arti Chopra administered the oath. The elected representatives were invested with their badges by Princi-pal, Coordinators & Reps. Principal Ma’am addressed and motivated the students to discharge their duties and responsibilities with integrity and to the best of their ability.

AMIGMUN- 2018

The most awaited event of the year AMIGMUN-2018 was organized in the campus of AIS-46 from 25th April’18 to 27

th April’18.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed an amazing spectacle of tireless enthusiasm. After the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony, our respected Principal, Mrs Arti Chopra, encouraged the delegates to make the best use of the platform offered to them. The secretary general, Ashwin Tewary introduced the Executive Board and declared the session opens with the pounding of the gavel. . In all seven committees were formed representing more than 150 countries including General Assembly, Constituent Assembly of India, European Power, Peace Building Commission, UNHRC, COP 24 and Islamic Development Bank. The sessions of the committees were led by Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons. The delegates debated some global issues ranging from LGBT Rights to State Rights and Division of Powers etc. The General Assembly was graced by the presence of our esteemed guest Captain Indu Bokan,, Block Education Of-ficer- Gurugram,, who also witnessed the proceedings of the session and imparted her valuable feedback that encouraged the students to present their ideas with outmost confidence. The second day was again marked with high spirits as they deliberated, debated and found solutions to

the problems. The third and the final day was totally dedicated to consolidating all the solutions, measures

suggested on the previous days. The event concluded with a closing ceremony honored by the presence

of Ms. Dharna Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Gurugram and Dr. Archana Sawshilya, Assis-

tant Professor – Political Science, Aditi Mahavidyalaya. They also addressed the young delegates and

explained them the significance of school’s MUN. The delegates walked with the awards of Best Dele-

gate, Best Position Paper, High Commendation and Special Mention awards. It was not only a learning

experience for students, but also inspired them to be a global citizen and aimed at strengthening commu-

nication skills of students and also grooms them as global leaders. With more than 400 delegates from

classes VIII to XII, the MUN session ended with a good note with the delegates making new friends, gain-

ing knowledge and emerging as ardent representatives, ready to lead the world.

Theatre Fest- Ignited Spirits 2018

Amity 46 lifted the overall championship trophy of Ignited Spirits this year too, with the senior and junior teams , both

getting first prize at an Interschool competition held at AIS PV. The school team participated in the Annual Theatre

Fest “Ignited Spirits 2018 –at the school premises of Amity International School, PushpVihar on 3rd

April 2018.

Theme for the juniors was ‘The World is an Oyster’ – Fables from Other Countries’. The participants presented a

Greek fable – ‘The Owl and the Hyena’. They got the First prize and received certificates for the same.

In the Senior Category the Theme was ‘Fire and Ice’ wherein the participants had to pick any two characters from

Shakespearean Era diametrically opposite and weave a story around them. They chose to present King Lear and

Romeo - A Spectacular Spectacle it was wherein the participants got the first prize and received certificates for the

same. Jyotika Bajaj received the Best Actor award too. Principal Arti Chopra felicitated the students and mentors in

the Morning Assembly and motivated students for their future endeavors.

Our School celebrated ATL community day in school in sync with the mission and vision of AIM to transfer the spirit

of inclusiveness and sharing scientific knowledge and temperament.

The program comprised of sharing project development process by class XII students followed by hands on activity

session conducted by in house teachers. It was related to 3D printing and electronic circuit designing. It was a heter-

ogeneous group comprising of govt school girls, Amitasha girls and students of school. It was extremely interactive

and fun filled session to foster the spirit of community knowledge and resource sharing.

Program was observed by NITI observers Ms Pallavi and Mr Saksham . NITI appointed mentor Mr Hetal Sonpal

mentored and guided students on their innovative idea.

Activity in Junior School

Reading Mahotsav

Amity 46 team, Practikality comprising Padam Chopra, Aryaman Agrawal and Keshav Maheshwari, were the Winners of the best product in the Accessibility Track and the Second Runners Up at Microsoft Imagine Cup Indian Nationals 2018. The team showcased their ma-chine learning based aap which aims to help the deaf, mute and visually impaired. The team presented their idea via an online submission, on the basis of which they were selected in the top 33 teams from India and were the only school team amongst them. They

pitched their product in front of a jury in round 1 and were selected as one of the top8 projects in India. Round 2 took place on the same day and the team qualified as one of the top 4 finalists to present their product live on stage. The final round included jury members such as the president of Microsoft India, CEO of NDTV gadgets360, head of incubator at Ashoka University and an en-trepreneur who had been featured in forbes top 40 under 40.

Regional level round for KWHS investment competition

WHARTON INVESTMENT COMPETITION Regional level round for KWHS investment competition was recently organised by KWHS team at Infosys campus in Bangalore on 3rd March 2018.Team from AISG 46 Alpha Hawks, comprising of six students of class XI went to participate in the competition with teacher advisor Ms.Priyanka Jain.Dignitaries like Ms. Diana Drake (Managing director KWHS) ,Ms. Kisha Gupta (Global Head of Academics relations Infosys) and Ms.Jyoti Arora (Director AERC Amity Group)graced the occasion. The event was judged by Pankaj Dinodia – CEO of Dinodia Capital Advisors;Vivek Kulkarni – Founder of Brick work ratings;Rajat Kumar – COO of ABP digital;Sanjay Purohit - Startegic advisor to Ekstep foundation and Rajesh Sehgal – Founder and managing partner in Equanimity investments. Team Alpha Hawks – AISG46 was recognised as the most humble team All the participating students were given certificates and special T shirts by KWHS team..

The Amity French Olympiad was held on 31 January for all the students of Class IX and X of Amity schools. Around 300 students participated wherein AIS Vasundhara 1 won the overall trophy for Class IX and AIS 46 bagged the overall trophy for Class X. We are proud to announce that Akarshi Aggarwal of class 10 I won gold medal and 10000/- cash prize for the same and Diksha Navani of class 10 I won silver medal and a beautiful wrist watch. Rushil Garg of class 10won gold medal and prize for holding first rank in the state , Chiranjiv won silver medal and prize for holding 2nd rank in state. Rahul Singal of class 9 won gold medal and a prize for holding 3rd rank in state.

State Yoga award

felicitated for bagging the All India rank 29 and 48

respectively. They were awarded with a book , pre-

UCO AWARD

In Asian Aerobics Championship at Thailand our children had received Gold and Bronze medals. Shivangi Bharani class IX - J won Gold in Trio and Bronze in Individual Sports Aerobics . Diaonshi Gupta of class X - E won Gold Medal in Trio.
