WANTED: New Adult-sized heavy hats, gloves and socks!
These items are being collected to warm the days and nights of the clients
of Bon Appétit Soup Kitchen in Biddeford. This local pre-Christmas
focus replaces “Operation Christmas Child” at Christ Church. Wicker
baskets, one located opposite the Food Pantry basket in the narthex up-
stairs and one in our downstairs dining hall, will be ready to receive
these items this Sunday for first delivery by the Christ Church Bon
Appétit team on Tuesday November 26th. Collection will continue into
mid-December.
ADVENT IS COMING !
We see all the lights and hear all the music. Christmas is coming!
But there is more to ADVENT than this. Advent is the time when we
prepare for the birth of God on earth.
Christ Church will be preparing for the Savior’s birth with an ADVENT
BIBLE STUDY and our ADVENT MUSICAL INTERLUDE on
Wednesday mornings in December. BIBLE STUDY from 11:30 AM to
12:30 PM and ADVENT INTERLUDE from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM.
Rev. Jim Anderson will lead the study comparing the various ways the
Bible tells of the Birth of our Savior. Warren King will present Advent
music bridging toward Christmas; both will begin on December 4, 2019
and continue through December 18th. Everyone is invited to join. Come
in take a break from all the hype and marketing of Christmas.
