    The Cinnamon Bear

The CINNAMON BEAR is the classic story of Judy and Jimmy Barton who search for the family'sSilver Star which goes on top of their Christmas tree. They discover the star has disappeared fromthe attic. Then they meet The Cinnamon Bear, and fly to Maybeland in his Soda Pop Airplane inpursuit of the Crazy Quilt Dragon, whom they believe took the ornament. They meet a host of characters, including Crazy Quilt Dragon, The Wintergreen Witch, Fe Fo the Giant, and even SantaClaus.

Each amazing adventure is a cliffhanger. Several times they recover the star, only to lose it again.Eventually the star is found for good and they return home just in time for Christmas.

This classic story was written by Glan Heisch, inspired by the stuffed bear of his boyhood, for hisdaughter, Catherine. Radio historians differ on the year of the first broadcast. Some say 1937,others say 1943. It would seem that it was "heard" several years before it was transcribed forbroadcast. Airplay would start just after Thanksgiving and run until Christmas Eve.

If you can manage it, we would suggest listening to each episode of The Cinnamon Bear, one aday, from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve. Your kids WILL beg for more, but if youcan hold out and do the one a day thing, you'll build some wonderful holiday memories that theywill remember for the rest of their lives.

We offer download links to all 26 episodes of The Cinnamon Bearon our blog each year beginning in late November.

I'm the Cinnamon Bear with the shoe-button eyesAnd I'm looking for someone to take by surprise

I go prowling and growling each night after darkBut the folks say my growl's just a cinnamon bark

Though I growl- grr-rah!And I growl- grr-rooh!My victims only say

    Oh, who's afraid of you?

I'm the Cinnamon Bear with the shoe button eyesAnd I'm huffy and fluffy and tough for my size

I devour lots of honey and cinnamon bunsJust to make me ferocious but nobody runsNow I'll growl grr-ah! And I'll growl grr-ooh!

And if you'll act afraidI'm much obliged to you!
