Historian – Report for: March meeting newsletter

fter the successful and well attended meeting in January, we had another strong lunch meeting. The program was for the Student Chapter night, but due to the lunch meeting student participation was limited. Technical Program was presented by Bruce Majer, VP of

BRD Noise and Vibration Control, Inc. PDH certificates were available for the program. We were educated about noise and the effects of noise due to HVAC equipment design and installation. We also learned about strategies for noise reduction to meet code and noise requirements.

The March meeting will be History Night and we will return to evening programs. I hope all of you make an effort to attend and help honoring one of our great members and past Society President.

Please check the other parts of the newsletter for the great program being planned for our March meeting.

If you have any important news related to our chapter or any of its members, please forward the information to me via email to Assis M. Flores at email address: [email protected]. If you need to talk to me, please call me on my cell phone: (315) 481-4075.

I look forward to seeing you at our regular monthly meetings.

Student ActivitiesHello All,It is hard to believe it is the month of March and the winter still has a grip on central NY and seems like it will never end. The Chapter was fortunate to have six of our Syracuse University student branch members show their bravery and attend the winter meeting in NYC in the month of January. I received emails from each of the par-ticipants letting us know how great their experiences were and how informative and interesting it was to attend. Some of the students and one of their professors attended the Region One Dinner at Johnny Utahs in Manhattan, home of the only mechanical bull in NYC. We hope all had a great time enjoying the festivities. The CNY Chapter is proudly reimbursing these participants up to six hundred dollars for their expenses for attending. We appreciate them representing and making the commitment for our Chapter in NYC. Checks for all of the participants will be available at our next meeting at the DoubleTree on March 12th please plan on attending and remember students are free for all meetings. We are looking forward to seeing all of you. If you cannot attend, checks will be mailed.

Thanks to all that attended!James Hart – Student Activities Chair
