The creation of “Angel Somos”
A photoshop guide to clone yourself
By Angel Uribe
Camera
Obviously, a camera is needed for every picture; but, which type of camera? You can use any
type (DSLR are always the best choice), just make sure it has more than 5 mega pixels. Also
remember that the more mega pixels you have the easier it will get to edit. It is also
recommended for you to use a tripod to make things 100% easier.
Find an angle
Now with your camera and tripod (if you managed to get one) you will make sure to have your
ideas clear and how you want the photo to be in a future. Then you proceed to get the angle and
shoot that thing!
Take the base
Here I decided the angle and then I took the picture. The idea in my head was clear “I want to see
how many me I can get inside the picture with no editing” So I took this idea and take the base
picture. It is important to mention that the base picture is like the canvas for the painter so you
will edit everything on top of the base. If you are asking yourself “How am I supposed to take a
picture of myself by myself?” The answer is simple my friend. You set the timer and rapidly
move to your position… or you manage to control your camera by a controller.
Picture you clones
Make sure NOT to move your camera AT ALL! When you are taking the pictures, you have to
be extremely careful, that’s why I told you about the tripod. Please have common sense and put
your clones in positions where they don’t overlap the other. Also be intelligent about the focus
and lightning, that’s why a DSLR is the best option for this types of projects. A recommendation
I give to DSLR users is to use manual control of the camera, manual and wide focus for the base
picture and face detector focus for the clones.
Photoshop time
Now that you have all the pictures and you’d make sure that they are focused and well executed,
it’s time to open photoshop and give life to that photo.
1. First step – insert the base picture
2. Second step – make a copy of the base picture
You’ll need to watch your back my friend.
3. Third step – insert your layers (pictures)
4. Fourth step – use your common sense and apply all the knowledge you have about
photoshop. Also, BE PATIENT
5. Fifth step – crop your layers
Remember to be careful with your cropping, you want to get it the most realistic way possible.
6. Sixth step – crop and label the composition
7. Seventh step – enjoy your creation!
Hope this was helpful to you.
Now leave alone and create your photos!
