• Jul. 2001 – Oct. 2004 Unit Cost– Cost per Copy: US$ 49.23 ($ 1,602,164
÷32,543 Copies)– Cost per Access: US$ 18.56 ($ 1,602,164
÷86,325 Copies Download)
Findings1
• MemberUniversity libraries play an important role in the DDC.
• CollectionKeep a continuous growth towards the Humanities and Social Science domain.
Findings2
• Download UsageBased on host server’s data, Copies of the Humanities and Social Science are downloaded/used more than the Nature Science and Engineering, but the usage of the Nature Science and Engineering grows gradually.
• ROICost per Access decreases sharp annually, and cheaper than the price of book acquisition. The Cost per Access will be lower (18.56 vs. 9.84 US$) if statistical data of local servers of member libraries are included.
Future
• System function– Statistics: more ICOLC or COUNTER-compliant
and individualization for library collection and budget management.
– Integration: with PQDD
• Collection– Towards to more plan-based (just-in-case)
development.
– Every dissertation has its reader. (Unused: 12,857)
