MediaStorm A website where journalism is practiced through use of multimedia It shows what the next generation of multimedia storytelling might be Media professional freelancers from a wide range of backgrounds

It was designed by New York Times journalists displaying the stories of New York characters using sound and images

It avoids merely shedding a light on “facts and accomplishments”, but rather on “a person's passions, dreams, struggles and the stories that make up a life”

It uncovers many stories of New Yorkers helped create a more succinct portrait of the city itself

Analysis of MediaStorm and One in 8 Million

Analysis of the two media platforms in terms of

1) finance 2) participation rate 3) areas which each of the media covers

A little concern arisen…

The ways to achieve financial sustainability of online features should be sought out – media makers need income!

Technological advances have enabled media makers to produce cultural products at little to no cost

The audience are accustomed to “easy access” to “free contents/info”
