Defence day celebration on September 6

Thursday, September 04, 2008Islamabad

Government of Pakistan has decided to celebrate defence day of Pakistan (September 6) throughout Pakistan with zeal and fervour by the services and civil government alike. The programmes so formulated for September 6, should reflect national unity, integrity and solidarity of Pakistan in particular.

According to September 6 programme, national flag will be hoisted at all important public buildings, ‘Hilal-i-Istiqlal’ will also be hoisted in the cities of Lahore, Sialkot and Sargodha under local formation headquarters.

Fateha Khawani will be offered at graveyards of the martyrs.

Change of guards ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid will be held and PAF Academy Rasilpur will take the charge of the Mazar. Floral wreaths will be laid on the Mazars of Quaid-i-Azam by PAF and Mazar of Allama Iqbal by Headquarters 4 Corps.

Special prayers will be offered for the preservation of the integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan. Floral wreaths will also be laid on the graves of recipients of ‘Nisha-i-Haider’ by or on behalf of the senior most commander in the area under arrangements respective local services headquarters.

Defence day is celebrated on 6th September. It is a National holiday in Pakistan to celebrate the successful of Pakistan against India in the war of 1965. It is celebrated in the memory of martyred people who gave sacrifices of their life for the of the country. We were dragged into a battle of survival against an enemy much larger in size and number. The brave people of Pakistan displayed immense courage during this fateful war, 44 years ago. They proved that a nation imbued with the true spirit of Jihad cannot be vanquished even by the mightiest forces. While our compatriots did not waver in this grim national trail, their brethren in uniform-soldiers, Sailors, and airmen- Wrote with their valiant deeds an inimitable Saga of abiding inspiration. The entire nation is proud of the supreme success of its armed forces in the war of 1965.We hold in great esteem the valour and gallantry of our warriors and are profoundly indebted to our shaheeds for showing unto us the path of ultimate glory. We as the defence forces of Pakistan are honour bound to follow their illustrious examples and remain always ready to foil the enemy design with similar spirit and passion.

Pakistan celebrates this day just for telling native of Pakistan that how people were brave at the critical time and were proud of offering sacrifices of their lives for the defence of their country.

The day of 6th September starts with special prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan and environment of patriot passion is generated in the whole country. Everyone decides in his mind that he will do such works which will be significant for the country.

Army of Pakistan displays the latest armaments used in the Army for various purposes on various places. National songs and special documentaries about 6th September 1965 and martyred people of 6th

September are displayed on T.V. It is old that how people gave sacrifices for the defence of the country and what is the responsibility of young generation now. May Allah give us strength and vision to fulfill our obligations to the nation.
