Hello friends, family and supporters,

We hope this email finds you well and not too hot during those hot and

We wanted to keep you updated on everything happening down here in

Ecuador!

As you can see pictured above, we recently said good-bye to our

fantastic volunteer the past four months, Meghan. We had an official

"despidida" (going away party) and then spent this past weekend taking

her to the beach for one final trip to see the humpback whales off the

coast of Puerto Lopez. During the party, Rolando presented her with this

special blouse made in his native Zuleta.

You can read more about Meghan and her time with us here.

We have some exciting news that we hinted at with the subject of this

email. We bought a house! You know all about the Home for At

Risk children being opened and now serving the area of Cayambe for

children in tough situations. This is a different kind of house! This is our

personal house that we bought in Quito, a goal that we have been striving

for the last couple of years. This past Thursday we signed and

purchased this home. You can see pictures of the signing below. We will

be sharing more pictures of the house soon enough.

As mentioned above, the Home for At Risk Children is now open. Praise

the Lord!!! We have our first child living with us, a three-year-old

boy. We need to protect his privacy so we will not be sharing his name or

any pictures or details of his situation. Read more about the Home

opening here.

We also celebrated Esther´s 3rd Birthday this past month. You can see

pictures from her party below.

With much love from Ecuador!

Praises & Prayer Requests

Thank you so much for your continued prayers for Joel's dad, Earl.

Please pray for the permit process for both the medical clinic and the home for at risk kids. The clinic is undergoing its annual renewal of permits and the home is of course going through its initial permit process. All of this is a grueling and unpleasant process so be praying for our project coordinator, Rolando Escola, as he is the main one working on these. Update - Thank you for your prayers as we do have both permits now. We have received the renewed permit for the Medical Clinic though we do still need to finish the construction on the addition. Also, during the Inauguration for the Home for At Risk Children on April 29th, we were presented with a provisional permit for the Home that is good for about 3 months. Thankfully, the additional requirements to receive the final permit are not extensive, expensive nor difficult for us.

Please pray for the Clinic ministry as we are serving the public with high quality affordable health care as an

extension of the local church, Iglesia Emanuel.

Please pray for the family and our goal to be a healthy family in every sense of the word. We have high hopes for 2017 so please continue to pray for this family goal.

Please pray for baby Ephraim that he will continue to grow and flourish in his young life. Please also pray for Simeon and Esther as well as Simeon has just finished 1st Grade and Esther her first year of Preschool.

Please pray that we receive clarity as how to pursue Kim's medical licensing in Ecuador.

Please continue to pray for our personal goal of being home owners in Ecuador. -- Update - As you probably read above, this is an answered prayer request. PRAISE THE LORD! Read more here.

We just got our 31st sign up for 64 for Ecuador! Our

medical clinic has now been open for over a year now as we

have been serving the community of Cayambe through high

quality medicine that is accessible to all. We wanted to

remind you of our campaign 64 for Ecuador. 64 for Ecuador

is a group of folks who pledge to support the Medical Clinic

through monthly giving. The eventual goal is that both the

Medical Clinic and the Home for At-Risk kids in Cayambe will

both be completely self-sufficient but in the meantime, 64

for Ecuador helps us to get both ministries up and

going. The idea is that we need average monthly support of

$4,000 or have 64 people wiling to commit to $64 in giving

monthly to support the Medical Clinic. We currently have 31

of the needed 64 for so we are almost half way there but

we still have a ways to go. Please click here to learn more as

well as watch the video below.
