SESSION 4 JANUARY 24, 2015
Digital Implant Planning
The use of CT scans for the planning of dental implants has been used for a long time. However, the use of the radiographic technology with the ability to plan and digitally position implants allows both the restorative clinician and the surgeon to communicate. The use of guided surgery also uses this technology and thus the exploration of the advances in this technology will allow the clinician to see the power of digital implant planning. A hands-on component will allow clinicians to get a chance to try the technology and digitally plan implant placement from a restoratively driven perspective.
SESSION 5 FEBRUARY 28, 2015
Digital In office CAD/CAM
The current use of in-offi ce CAD/CAM such as in offi ce crown manufacturing, has continually advanced. The clinician will see the application of this technology and how it can benefi t their practice. There will be a hand-on component that allows the clinician to see what are the uses and limitations of this technology.
SESSION 6 APRIL 18, 2015
Digital Records
Digital offi ce management, digital charting, digital record keeping and digital integration of the offi ce from front to back. Clinicians will see the value in moving towards a digitally managed practice. With record keeping and patient education at your fi ngertips, with an understanding of the accessibility, the power and security of this technology will transform any practice.

COURSE OUTLINE The term “Digital Workfl ow” is often used in conjunction with the technological advancement that are seen in the many facets of dentistry today. But for the most part, it has been simply a conglomeration of multiple pieces, of a confusing puzzle. This study club aims to clarify some of the misconceptions, misunderstandings and misrepresentations of various digital aspects of the dental process. There will be a focus on multiple areas of digital dentistry and will look at how they can dramatically improve the way dentistry is done today. We will explore the principles of digital technology and what its impact is on the everyday dental practice to increase effi ciency and profi tability. Digital dentistry is relevant to every General Practitioner because the advancement of digital dentistry is all around us. As such, knowledge of these topics are not only important, but essential.
SESSION 1 OCTOBER 18, 2014
The Digital Dental Workflow - Revolutionizing the General Dental Practice
With multiple areas of the dental process utilizing digital methods, this session will journey through various aspects of dentistry that have in some way or another, been revolutionized by technology. From digital impressions as the initial stage of treatment planning and data gathering, to the delivery of a fi nal restoration that is designed and manufactured in the digital realm, this session will explore the various aspects of the dental process that can now be done entirely in digital space. As an overview of the entire dental process from start to fi nish, this session will explain what is truly meant by the term - The Digital Dental Workfl ow.
SESSION 2 NOVEMBER 15, 2014
Digital Impressions
The crucial fi rst step in the record making process. Accuracy is vitally important as all subsequent steps in the dental process rely on this critical initial step. Clinicians will gain a hands-on experience using the latest technology and see the added value that this technology brings. The current research on this technology has shown promising signs that this method is both accurate and usable. [iTERO or 3Shape TRIOS]
SESSION 3 DECEMBER 13, 2014
Digital Restoration Design and Lab CAD/CAM
The process of prosthetic restoration fabrication is often bewildering and diffi cult to understand. Clinicians will get a chance to learn from the stand point of a dental lab, what are the processes involved in design and fabrication of a dental prosthesis. The use of technology allows labs and clinicians to better communicate and allow for closer involvement of the clinician in the design and result of the prosthesis. The clinician will gain an understanding of the steps involved and get an opportunity for hands-on digital design of restorations and abutments. The clinician will also gain an understanding of some of the technological advances in manufacturing, which will allow for a more informed understanding when there is communication between the lab and the clinician.
