THE DIVINE DWELLINGWITH MAN

1 John 4:12 through 1 John 4:16 (NKJV)12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13

By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God,

God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he

who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

1 John 2:24 through 1 John 2:27 (NKJV)

24 Therefore let that abide in you which YOU HEARD from the beginning. If what YOU HEARD from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.

26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing TEACHES YOU concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it HAS TAUGHT YOU, you will abide in Him.

John 6:44 through John 6:45 (NKJV)

44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. (Isaiah 54:13)

Jeremiah 31:33-34 (NKJV)

33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

We are an anointed people because we have been TAUGHT the gospel

Mark 16:15 through Mark 16:16 (NKJV)15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV)19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

When that which is heard abides in us, we abide in the Father and in the son

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

THE DIVINE (CHRIST) DWELLING WITH MAN

John 15:1 through John 15:10 (NKJV)1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

5“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

9“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

ONENESS AND ABIDING TOGETHER

Jesus is speaking of the intimate relationship or communion between each other as we do His will and bear fruit

THIS RELATIONSHIP OF HARMONY A harmony through His word which teaches

us to become like God, and be one with God

God’s love and man’s response

The Divine Beings (Father, Son and H.S) love man and have communicated their heavenly desire for fellowship with men

Christians, have listened to, and responded to His word, to share in God’s spiritual character and life

THIS RELATIONSHIP IS SO STRONG AND CLOSE

THAT EACH IS SAID TO DWELL IN THE OTHER

The Beauty Of Living SpirituallyHis Spirit Lives In Us

• Romans 8:9 through Romans 8:11 (NKJV)9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Spiritual Minded, Not Carnal Minded

Romans 8:1 (NKJV)1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:4 through Romans 8:5 (NKJV)4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

Romans 8:12-14 (NKJV)

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors--not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Persons “dwelling in us” is not an uncommon expression

• We speak of parents living in their children• We speak of lovers having each other in their

hearts• Teachers abiding in their students• National leaders possessing the hearts of their

people

This does not demand a personal possession !

They dwell in RELATIONSHIP

• Kindred in heart and action

• In harmony of will

• In fellowship of action

• A mutual communion and agreement of will

WHAT IS IT TO HAVE THE DIVINE BEINGS IN US?

• What is the PRACTICAL IMPORT of it in the life of the Christian?

1. You LOVE THEM with a virtually unbounded love.

John 14:23 through John 14:24 (NKJV)23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

When others dwell in you

2. You THINK about them “all the time”

Ephesians 5:18 through Ephesians 5:19 (NKJV)18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

Colossians 3:16 through Colossians 3:17 (NKJV)16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

When others dwell in you

3. You develop the SAME ATTITUDES about things that they have

1 Corinthians 6:15 through 1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV)15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is ONE SPIRIT WITH HIM.

• 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

When others dwell in you 4. You develop the same attitudes TOWARD

PEOPLE that they have

5. You readily respond when they ask you to do something

1 John 2:3 through 1 John 2:6 (NKJV)3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

When others dwell in you

6. You want to be what they want you to be

1 John 2:28 through 1 John 2:29 (NKJV)

28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

IS CHRIST DWELLING IN YOU?

• IS GOD ABIDING IN YOU?• IS HIS SPIRIT LIVING IN YOU?

• ARE WE LIVING IN SUCH A WAY THAT WE CAN TRULY SAY, “OH YES, HE IS LIVING STRONG WITHIN?

LET GOD LIVE IN YOU, AND YOU IN HIM

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
