History

• The drum set is an instrument of the percussion family.

• We can say that it was born in the late 1800’s, but from then until now, it has suffered huge changes that have made of it one of the most popular instrument of percussion.

PARTS

Tom-toms• The high tom is the smallest.

• The mid tom is mounted over the bass drum.

• They are normally played with sticks or brushes.

CYMBALS

• .They are normally round plates of various materials.

• The majority are of indefinite pitch. Drum kits usually incorporate a crash,ride and a pair of hi hat cymbals(played with sticks).

DRUMS

• Are made from a skin stretched over a hollow tube and it can be played with both hands and stick.

• The bass drum is usually played with a leg pedal.
