PTO Board Open Nominations
The Sacred Heart Catholic School PTO is looking for people to serve on
the PTO Board for the next school year. Our PTO works hard to make
Sacred Heart a great place for all of our kids! We need parents to step
forward and get involved! If you are interested in serving on the Board, or
know someone who is, please nominate someone (including yourself) for a
position on the Board. Please be sure to include your contact information.

*If you will have a child/children at Sacred Heart Catholic School for the 2015/2016 school year, you are eligible!
PTO Executive Board Positions & Duties (Full descriptions available in the PTO By-Laws)
President: Will preside over all PTO general meetings and at all PTO board meetings; will serve as the primary
contact for the principal; will have general supervision of the affairs of the PTO; and, will appoint standing
committee coordinators, subject to the PTO Constitution and direction of the PTO Executive Board.
Vice President: Will organize all Home Room Parents and will act as the primary liaison between Home Room
Parents and the Principal, Principal Representative and/or PTO President. They will organize the room parent
information meeting at the beginning of school and update informational packets for each room parent. They will
inform room parents of upcoming events and special requests throughout the year. **The Vice President will
automatically assume the role of the President position when the current Presidents term ends.
Financial Officer: Will be the PTO liaison with the school Accounts Receivable Coordinator and/or Principal.
They will be in charge of approving PTO reimbursements along with the PTO President that need to be paid by the
Accounts Receivable Coordinator out of the PTO account. The Financial Officer will provide a monthly budget
report for review to the PTO Executive Board at PTO Board Meetings. The Financial Officer will be the primary
contact for the PTO Executive Board and Oktoberfest Chairs and will also be responsible for providing an
Oktoberfest and PTO Budget to the Principal.
Secretary: Will keep the minutes and permanent records of all general and PTO Board meetings; finalize minutes
& obtain necessary approvals; keep the calendar of events for the PTO and distribute information.
Hospitality: Will coordinate planning with the committee chairs for the various PTO sponsored activities
throughout the year to organize refreshments, setups and breakdowns of PTO sponsored functions for the school.
Hospitality will assist the Vice President in all duties, and will assume the Vice President Room Parents’
responsibilities in her/his absence. She/he is responsible for helping organize teacher luncheons throughout the
year.
Historian: Will be responsible for making a scrapbook of the school year. Take photos and assemble a school
record of the current year to preserve any events, articles or pictures of Sacred Heart School published in the local
newspapers or Catholic Herald.
Chaplin: Will be in charge of the monthly prayers for meetings.
