IntroductionNanotechnology is the use of very small particles of material either by themselves or by their manipulation to create more new large scale materials. In fact nanotechnology is already applied to concrete, steel and glass. Concrete is stronger, more durable and more easily placed, steel tougher and glass self-cleaning.
Project SummaryThis project is entitled to give you the awareness of the professional and future civil engineers about the effectiveness of this promising technology. This study will give you the combinations of the insights of the respondents as well as the facts that the researchers acquired to provide valuable information about nanotechnology.
The respondents of this study are the professors and 3rd year to 5th year students of civil engineering. This study will be conducted at the Technology Institute of the Philippines, Quezon City. This project will benefit the aspiring civil engineers and the current civil engineers by providing more information about this promising technology to improve the building structures and the composites in the construction industry.
AimsThis research proposal aims to prove the effectiveness of nanotechnology in the field of Civil Engineering. Also, this proposal hopes to help the civil engineers and even the students to be more innovative with this kind of technology so that they can provide better construction materials that can be used in construction purposes that can endure climatic changes and other discrepancies for a long period of time.
Objectives1. To show that there are many construction materials wherein we can employ the use of nanotechnology. Thus, causing these construction materials to be more durable, effective, stronger and tougher than those of the construction materials without this nanotechnology.
2. To establish that the cement, glass and steel with nanotechnology are more efficient and have
better qualifications and standards for being the construction materials ready to employ in building an infrastructure.
3. To gather information about the perceptions of the students and of the professors of Civil Engineering regarding the effectiveness of nanotechnology in this field.

Theoretical Framework
ConclusionNanotechnology is a promising innovation for our society. There is no doubt that it is very applicable with construction materials. It proves it capacity to have better qualities and properties than the usual materials. It is effective in steel, cement, and glass which are common materials. Also, the perception of the professors and the students differs.
