Wrocław is a magical city proudly bearing the name of the European Capital of Culture 2016 and now will become the capital of the world bridge, too. It`s called the Venice of the North due to more than a hundred bridges built over numerous branches of the River Oder. It`s a melting pot of Polish, German and Czech influences, moreover, after the war, many citizens came here from Lvov, Ukraine. It has always been a city famous for its tolerance of various religions; Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox and Jewish. It`s renowned for its hospitality, its cultural life fascinates and attracts. During the school year, 20% of Wrocław population are students who enjoy its status of a powerful and flourishing academic centre.

This extraordinary mixture of people has created a tolerant and open city whose amazing atmosphere, felt especially in the Market Square, goes hand in hand with the immense appeal of numerous historical treasures. It`s a city which attracts with its charm thousands of tourists every year and I hope that you, the readers of this guide, will be talked into paying a visit, even if a short one, to a few places in Wrocław - those that you can`t possibly miss.I`m not going to preach here too much about all sorts of historical monuments. There `s no point creating another guide round tourist attractions since you`ll find plenty of those, moreover the Internet will give you details about anything you can possibly imagine. The aim of this guide is totally different! It often happens so that being in a new place you`d fancy having dinner in a classy restaurant, but you don`t know where to go. Recently, the level of culinary services certainly improved in Wrocław, nevertheless there are still quite a few restaurants here which target mainly tourists since they are typical one-off visitors. „Eat but don`t enjoy it, pay and never come back” - well, our firm „No!!!” to all the restaurants that are run according to this principle. I`d like to give you a guide round, in my opinion, the best Wrocław restaurants. The guide will direct you not only to exclusive, high-priced restaurants, but will recommend places where, at affordable prices, you can enjoy a modern approach to international and traditional Polish cuisine. I haven`t forgotten either about simple food trucks which will satisfy your palate with great dishes for just a few euros.I`ve been a delighted guest at each of the places recommended, therefore the choice has been carefully thought through on the basis of the most important criterion, namely the price/quality ratio. Take my word for it - you won`t be disappointed. And one more thing. When you visit my enchanted plates and places, don`t forget to whisper to waiters` ears this magical word „Bridge”. Who knows? In some of them it might be a secret password allowing you to get a welcome drink or a delicious piece of a surprise dish. For free...

WROCŁAW - THE EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2016

However, before we satisfy the stomachs, let`s take care of your eyes first. Any sightseeing tour must necessarily begin in our beautifully restored Old Town (Stare Miasto). We may spend hours arguing which European city has the most impressive Market Square, (Rynek Starego Miasta) but no matter what sources you consult, Wrocław is invariably among the top three in every ranking. The history of the Market Square dates back to the 13th century and the majority of its tenements come from the 16th-18th centuries. Today, restored to their previous beauty and glory, they create the magical atmosphere of this place. The Market Square boasts countless restaurants, clubs and pubs beating in this respect any city in our part of the planet, so visiting each one will take ages. It`s worth stepping into all the litlle backstreets, too. There are plenty of such colourful, magical places in the Old Town and it`s just impossible to describe them all.

When you walk the streets of Wrocław, you might be astonished by a gnome appearing suddenly here and there. Yeah, a gnome :). There are almost three hundred of such brass statuettes dwelling in our town. Obviously, if you wish to meet a gnome, you can`t just leisurely stroll admiring the buildings with your nose in the sky. Officially, their headquarters is located in a tenement called Hansel and Gretel but, by all accounts, the gnomes can suddenly spring from the ground literally everywhere, so watch your step! You`ll surely meet a few.

In the immediate vicinity of the Market Square, there is The District of Four Faiths (Dzielnica Czterech Wyznań), the area of Kazimierz the Great, Saint Anthony, Paweł Włodkowic and Saint Nicolas Streets. In this part of the Old Town you can visit four temples of four different

faiths: an Orthodox church, a Roman Catholic church, an Evangelical church of the Augsburg Confession and a synagogue. The building I love the most is certainly the synagogue, restored a few years ago, which you can admire sitting in a cafeteria garden, cherishing the moment. Another advantage of the area is a number of cafes and music clubs located along Włodkowic Street and Niepolda Passage.

The oldest part of Wrocław, Ostrów Tumski, surrounded by the Oder, is a historical fortified settlement which gave rise to the city. Its marvellous architectural treasures include, first of all, the monumental gothic cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, destructed during the war but then carefully

rebuilt. It`s worth visiting the Archdiocesan Museum with its impressive collection of sacred art and take a look at the famous Book of Henryków, created at the turn of the 13th century which contains the first sentence written in Polish. Only here you`ll have a unique opportunity to see a lamplighter lighting real gas lamps. When you feel like forgetting about slams and doubles, nothing compares to admiring the panorama of Wrocław during a relaxing stroll in magnificent gardens along the bank of the Oder.

The Panorama of the Battle of Racławice, a famous work by Jan Styka and Wojciech Kossak, is a unique presentation of the Battle of Racławice which took place on 4th of April 1794 during the Kościuszko Insurrection and was painted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the battle. In order to properly display the huge painting (15 x 114 metres), a special rotunda was designed where now, due to concerted efforts of artists (special perspective) and experts at technology (lighting, artificial terrain and a darkened,

winding terrace) visitors can participate in an outstanding spectacle of illusions.

Now, here goes a cherry on top to finish my short list of must-see places... in other words, the venue of the WBG where we will spend the next two weeks, meeting each other at a bridge table. The Centennial Hall (Hala Stulecia), designed by a great visionary Max Berg, is commonly recognised as one of the most outstanding achievements of the 20th century architecture. It was erected in early modernist style in 1913 to celebrate an international exhibition which commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Lipsk. The copula of the Hall was made of reinforced concrete and its inner diameter is 1.5 bigger than that of the Panteon in Rome however it constitutes only 42% of the Panteon`s weight. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006.Just think - we`ll meet in this incredible place each day during the WBG.A personal touch - the dome of the Hall was the place from which I took the first bungy jump in my life!

The Centennial Hall lies in the heart of Szczytnicki Park, the largest park in Wrocław. It was established in 1785, first as a private garden, later it became part of a city park. Its most attractive element is the Japanese Garden whose original layout contributes greatly to the changes we can watch as seasons come and go. The Garden shows us a different face every

month; the elements of Japanese architecture being its only stable part. The Szczytnicki Park with its arboretum, marvellous rhododendron groves, rosarium and the Japanese Garden is listed among the sites of great historical value. I strongly encourage you to relax there after winning a session as it`s just a 5-minute walk from the WBG venue!

A step away from the Centennial Hall, encircled within the beautiful Pergola and Szczytnicki Park stands the Wrocław Multimedia Fountain. Its area of 1 hectare makes it one of the largest in Europe. The fountain basin (measuring 115 x 108 m) contains 300 jets of various kinds (geysers, as well as foaming, dynamic, misting, spot, palm and water plus 3 fire jets) which are capable of spurting water up to 40 metres. Additionally, the fountain is illuminated by 800 lighting points fixed in its bottom. Everything comes to life during

multimedia water shows which are magnificent displays of water, music, projectors and laser lights. Such extraordinary spectacles take place every evening and you simply can`t miss them. An absolute must for everyone and it`s free of charge!

Finally, when you are totally fed up with bridge, when your partner calls you a baboon, a donkey or a birdbrain, take them to the other side of the street to the Wrocław Zoological Garden where they might see what real animals look like. The Zoo is one of the wonders of our city. What makes the biggest impression on its visitors is certainly Africarium, opened two years ago, where, walking along glassy underwater tunnels, you can admire an impressive variety of marine life of Africa. I`ve seen a similar tunnel in Dubai, but ours is way, way better and far more attractive.

Let me finish this introduction by warmly thanking Bryśka for translation and Paweł Biały for desktop publishing. Both of them were sweating with me at nights till the last moment to make sure that this guide will reach you on time. Thanks a lot. Now, I wish all of you, my readers, many unforgettable culinary experiences and evening bridge discussions at tables spread with delicious food. Enjoy!

Monopol Restaurant/Wine Bar/Cafe Bar

The luxurious Monopol Hotel has played an important part in Wrocław history. It was erected at the end of the 19th century and, for more than a hundred years, has attracted most celebrated visitors from all over the world. Ten years ago it underwent an extensive renovation and now enchants everyone with its look and the standards of the services offered, the highest possible. For years, I have been fascinated by the Aquario restaurant, undoubtedly one of the best in Poland, located on the sixth floor of the hotel. Its glass walls allow the guests to admire an extraordinary panorama of Wrocław while its wide terrace makes you feel the magic of the place even before you open the menu. Aquario follows the Hitchcock`s example - a good meal starts with an earthquake of flavours to be followed by rising tension... till the last bite.

Lunch Menu: 12.00 – 16.00Tasting Menu: 18.00 – 23.00

The Monopol means traditional Polish cuisine but with a new approach and innovative compositions. The menu, changing with seasons, is created by the chef, Justyna Słupska-Kartaczowska, who draws on traditional, tried and tested recipes, but gives each dish an individual, modern form. The grandeur of the interior and an impressive variety of the flavours offered by the hotel restaurant make you remember for long every moment you`ve spent here.

Open: 12.00 – 23.00

Cafe BarThe intimate atmosphere of the Monopol`s Cafe Bar will certainly tempt you to take advantage of their offer after supper and a day of spades, hearts, diamonds and one downs. Try a rich menu of drinks and awesome coctails professionally and imaginatively crafted by talented staff. Only the finest premium brands of alcohols and an impressive selection of cigars waiting for you in humidors make the Monopol Café Bar a distinctive venue in the heart of Wrocław.

Summer terracesIf, during the World Bridge Games, we are lucky enough to have a warm evening, then Monopol`s spacious rooftop terraces, offering an irresistibly charming shelter, are perfectly designed for relaxation and pleasure after a hard day`s fight at the table. This is also the most desired place for an evening-out with friends. Here, in the very heart of historical Wrocław, in the quiet company of a gothic church and the opera house, you can tranquilly enjoy a glass of wine or champagne, admire the stars and a magnificent view over the city, leaving the bustling streets below.

GRAPE Restaurant/Wine Bar

Advance reservation is required.

+48 71 73 60 4008 Parkowa Street

You need just a 5-minute walk from the Centennial Hall to find the Grape Restaurant, located in a stylish 19th-century villa and enjoy the benefits of their special season menu a la carte or, equally special, tasting menu which I tried myself a few weeks ago and ... I`m enchanted with the place. It is the only place in Wrocław which boasts their own wine library containing more than 400 wines. One of the restaurant`s most valuable assets is the Chef himself, Łukasz Dudziński, whose love and passion for cooking is combined with great imagination, utmost care and attention to detail. Having top-quality ingredients and modern cooking techniques at his disposal, he is capable of conjuring dishes which will surprise and stay in your memory as an unforgettable experience. The restaurant was awarded by Poland 100 Best Restaurants and the Yellow Guide Gauld&Millau Poland and they certainly deserve the awards.Everybody is warmly invited from 12 to 14 for three-course lunch at the price of 49 PLN, served every day including the weekends.

10

Mennicza Fusion Restaurant/Wine Bar

The Mennicza Fusion restaurant is an awesome, stylish place, intimately hidden in one of the Wrocław nooks, a few minutes on foot from the Market Square. Located within the walls of the 16th century granary, now converted into 5-star Granary Hotel, surely enchants its guests with the beautiful brick ceiling, however, what really attracts customers is remarkable profusion of flavours and visual experiences.Łukasz Budzik, the Chef, is a real artist who has raised the standards of cooking to an incredible level. His original compositions have earned an outstanding reputation among both foreign and Polish culinary experts. Chef`s special dishes are an ideal fusion of best European flavours and unique titbits of Lower Silesia.

Don`t hesitate and book a table one evening to try the tasting menu. Obviously, the version for adults :) with alcohol. I once had a pleasure of experiencing the sommelier`s artistry and his best compositions of flavours and aromas of wines carefully selected from the menu.Masters of their craft. Simply the best! Before I forget - when you order something a la carte, I advise risotto with truffles and anchovies. Absolutely lip-smacking!

12

OKWineBar Restaurant/Wine Bar

OKWineBar is another magical place you cannot miss. The restaurant is located in a marina and from its wide terrace you can enjoy great views over the Oder, Ostrów Tumski and a magnificent building of Wrocław University. There`s no better place than here to continue heated discussions and analyses of bridge problems - outdoors, with a glass of wine or cognac. Hammocks, deckchairs and the champagne bar offer ideal relaxation and will allow you to forget about your, obviously temporary and accidental, bridge defeats. OKWineBar food perfectly matches the great views so I guarantee that you won`t be disappointed. I`d especially like to recommend delicious ravioli with spinach, gorgonzola and truffle foam and all the frutti di mare. Certainly, you have to try classical Polish hand-chopped beef tartare! As the very name suggests, OKWineBar is a wine bar too, and offers the widest selection of wines in Wrocław. More than two thousand bottles come from all the most important wine-producing regions of the planet; starting with the most obvious ones like France, Italy or Spain to Lebanon, Georgia, Canada or Slovakia. Polish wines are on the menu, too.

13

1 Księcia Witolda StreetPhone 71 714 21 26

There`s a special offer for champagne lovers - bubbly sold on glasses. You can choose from Moet&Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Cava, Prosecco and Sekts. In order to start or finish a meeting, choose something from a long list of liquors which includes grappas, cognacs or single malt whisky. Now you know where to go to celebrate the gold medals. An obvious answer is the OKWineBar!

14

Restauracja Cesarsko-Królewska Restaurant/Wine Bar

There are such restaurants which tell their own stories. The Cesarsko-Królewska restaurant is a unique place not just due to its location in the Market Square, but, primarily, due to all these traditional Polish dishes you can taste here. The chef perfectly combines nostalgia for the glory of the past with newest culinary trends, good taste with unassuming elegance, and European, in the best sense of this word, quality with love of our local customs and traditions. If you happen to be walking round the Market Square, drop in. Excellent kitchen and a wine cellar (always full) will certainly satisfy the connoisseurs, leaving the beautiful interior and a view over the Town Hall to teetotallers. Long live the good soldier Svejk! The restaurant is located in the southern part of the Market Square.

La Maddalena Restaurant/Wine Bar

9 Paweł Włodkowic StreetPhone 71 782 60 90

La Maddalena is a small island somewhere on the Mediterranean Sea, squeezed (bridgewise?) between Italian Sardinia and French Corsica. There isn`t much to do there apart from catching fish or frutti di mare and, more importantly, drinking awesome white wine while lying on the most magical beaches decorated with crystal clear white sand. However, La Maddalena here, in the heart of the Four Faiths Districts (Remember? The one I advertised as a must-see place?) is a restaurant, proudly featured on the list of 100 Best Restaurants in Poland for the last three years. Moreover, it`s one of the three Wrocław restaurants awarded with a special prize - The Grand Award of Three Forks. Tolkien once said that three is company. The awards are rightly deserved, howgh. The dishes served here will satisfy even the most discerning customers. There`s an extra asset, too - a garden located in the yard of the Synagogue at the White Stork. (Remember? A garden where you sit cherishing the moment?) Undeniably, one of the most enchanted places in Wrocław and a must-stop point on our private culinary map of the city.

17

Olszewskiego 128 Restaurant/Wine Bar/Shop

128 Karol Olszewski StreetPhone 530 530 918

The Olszewskiego 128 restaurant is an obligatory stop in our culinary tour round Wrocław. It may not look particularly exclusive form the outside, but appearances are deceptive and the dishes they serve, real masterpieces of culinary artistry, will quickly make you certain with their taste that you`re now sitting in one of the world`s top restaurants. The owner and the chef at the same time, Katarzyna Daniłowicz, is the winner of the fourth edition of a popular TV programme Top Chef. The menu contains a la carte dishes together with a variety of special, season compositions prepared by the chef herself on the basis of local produce and ingredients.A great idea for a quick meal is the so-called bistro menu which includes, among other dishes, delicious, fresh salads, homemade burgers, rolls and French fries.I would wholeheartedly recommend that one evening you try a 5, 7 or 9-course tasting menu which will include a selection of wines and local alcohols, available at a one-day prior reservation. The menu is supplemented with unconventional desserts with homemade ice-cream and an impressive selection of wines and local beers.Another great advantage of the restaurant is affordable pricing of lunches therefore I encourage you to take a tram number 1, 2, 4 or 10 (direction Biskupin) and you`ll find the place a mere 10 meters from the last stop. The ride from the Centennial Hall will take 5 to 6 minutes so you will be able to get there, eat your lunch for only 29 PLN and be back for the next session without any stressful, unnecessary haste!

P2 Restaurant/Wine Bar/Bar

2/3 Plac Solny 2/3Phone: 71 345 85 10

In very close proximity to the Market Square, in its south-west corner in fact, there is a charming squa-re called Plac Solny (Salt Square) famous, among other things, for flower shops open 24/7 (!!!) and this special atmosphere created by renowned cafes and restaurants. The square was built in the 13th century and its name, obviously, comes from the main pro-duct which used to be traded here.Salt won`t be needed if you visit Dinner&Bar P2 since their dishes are per-fectly seasoned by the chef. P2, located in the north part of the square, stands out from other restaurants as it`s a harmonious combination of a restaurant, cafeteria and a pub. You`ll taste here not only excellent dishes of European cuisine, but you`ll eat delicious cakes as well, and sample fancy drinks prepa-red by best Wrocław barmen which will certainly boost your mood.Personally, I`d recommend goulash soup and tender, succulent beef cheeks, a current hit of Wrocław gastronomy. My daughter praises their pasta, my wife scrumptious tuna steaks. Why have I mentioned my family? See, I met my wife some years ago in P1, a restaurant once belonging to the P2 owner;). Both me and my wife enjoy highest quality and P2 certainly guarantees that. Visiting P2 will surely stay in your memory for a long time as a great expe-rience and, who knows, perhaps you`ll meet your future wife here because at weekends DJ plays FUNK’N’SOUL, NU JAZZ so you`ll have the opportunity to combine delicious supper with terrific entertainment. Enjoy!

Szajnochy 11 Restaurant

11 Szajnocha StreetPhone: 71 342 30 62

662 151 393

Szajnochy 11 is another restaurant in Wrocław which has been awarded by the Gault&Millau guide. It`s not a typical sushi bar but rather a classy restaurant, an icon of a sort, where sushi and Japanese cuisine constitute an inspiration for the chef to create original and unforgettable flavours. I know personally the boy who goes to Holland a few times a week and there, on the fish market, buys the best fish and frutti di mare for the restaurant. You can be certain that each dish served there is prepared from fresh and top-quality ingredients. Whenever I visit the place I order Thai soup which is, quite likely, better than those I tasted in the streets of Bangkok. Then, after the soup, I turn myself to restaurant`s staff and ask them to surprise me nicely with something I haven`t tasted before. Each dish looks so gorgeous that I feel remorse I eat something so perfectly and imaginatively prepared. Szajnochy 11 is located 2 minutes from the Market Square, so if you suddenly fancy anything Japanese, just go, go, go. You won`t be disappointed.

20

Projekt Wieża Restaurant/Shop

The Projekt Wieża restaurant is a new spot on the Wrocław culinary map, but they have already managed to win the hearts of true connoisseurs. It`s a culinary project created with passion to the rhythm of changing seasons, special attention to quality and with the use of both traditional recipes and newest cooking techniques. Here you may savour magnificent Polish cuisine in its modern version; especially I`d like to recommend an evening 5-7 or 9-course tasting menu.On weekdays, from 12 to 16, just forget your grim bridge reality and, becoming part of Project Lunch, satisfy your palate with great culinary thematic creations, each day different. The Project means either 3-course lunch for 34 PLN, or a 4-course for 39.Everything within the walls of a 19th century tower, far from the city noise with all its hustle and bustle, far from 4 spades and first leads, everything within a walking distance from the Hall - don`t you think it`s worth giving a try?I encourage you to make your booking fast, as after a day or two, Projekt Wieża is certain to become one of the most crowded places in the vicinity of the Hall.

Przystań and MarinaLocated in one of the most charming parts of the city, between two bridges on the Oder, the Przystań restaurant offers unforgettable views over Wrocław masterpieces of architecture. Apart from the views, you can relish here most delicious dishes of Mediterranean cuisine. My taste buds go wild each time I drop in on Przystań for tuna pescaccio with scallops and salmon and then passion fruit sorbet which lusciously complements my meal. Next I have a glass of wine, chocolate fondant with cherries for dessert, I sense a delicate breeze from the river and I feel as if I was teleported from Wrocław to a terrace of a Corsican tavern. A moment of holiday in the city centre. Do you want to feel the same?

Marina is a sister of Przystań and they even share the same address. The advantages of both places are similar and the dishes served are very close in nature. Both restaurants belong to the same owner, a true hostess and a good spirit of the place. In cold evenings, you`ll certainly enjoy Marina`s wonderfully warm atmosphere, just like the one you can experience in restaurants across Southern Europe. If, after a hard day`s bridge, you need to reset your brain, I definitely recommend smoked beef tartare with black truffle flakes plus 40 ml of vodka. Such a combination will immediately give you a new lease of life and will be a marvellous introduction to the Marina`s best - a veal steak with chantarelles (an incredibly tasty kind of mushrooms). The chefs of both Marina and Przystań never take the easy way. A lot of the dishes from the menu require real sophistication and culinary wizardry. Try yourselves. It`s surely worth it.

Budda Lounge Restaurant

Buddha Lounge Indian & Thai Cuisine

A European but dreaming of Asia? In Wrocław, we have a terrific place for those who search for Asian inspirations in the heart of Europe. Roll up for a magical mystery tour with the Buddha Lounge to discover exotic secrets of Indian and Thai classical, regional cuisine.

Imagine all the people eating crispy and aromatic Samos, revelling in the taste of Chicken Kashmiri or savouring every single piece of hot Lamb Madras (thus living life in peace).

The menu is full of such exciting specialities which have their origins in India and Thailand. Here I`ve found the flavours which I discovered two years ago travelling for a month across Asia.

The owner has prepared a special offer for us, humble bridge players. Once you have paid the bill, you will be offered a card worth 1500 PLN which you can buy for a mere thousand to spend in the Buddha Lounge. This extraordinary proposition is intended not only for bigger groups but also for the guests who wish to come back there, fascinated by the variety of dishes and flavours.

2 Rynek (Market Square)Phone: +48 71 343 79 27,

The west side of the Market Square is the home of the Pod Gryfami restaurant which is located a few metres from the tenement Hansel and Gretel (Remember the gnomes?) and the magnificent Garrison Church with a viewing platform on top. It`s worth climbing hundreds of stone stairs to admire the panorama of the city.

Pod Gryfami is one of the most famous Wrocław restaurants. An inconspicuous entrance leads you to a unique, three-storey restaurant and then a wine bar located in spacious 15th and 18th centuries cellars. I love the place for its original atmosphere and excellent meat, smoked by the chef himself. You will eat here remarkable American black angus steaks and marvellous Polish game dishes. Deer sirloin is absolutely lip-smacking and makes you wish to come back the very next day.

One of the chef`s best ideas are „reconstructions” of historical dishes. He searches in libraries and antiquarian bookshops for descriptions of old Polish dishes which used to be popular in our area and, on this basis, conjures up various wonders later served to his guests. Eating such dishes within the walls of a historical tenement is certainly an unforgettable experience, especially that you can wash them down with beer from a small, family brewery...

PERGOLA Restaurant

1 Wystawowa StreetPhone 71 347 50 21

Only a hundred meters from the bridge table you`ll find the Pergola cafeteria and restaurant. The views from their windows are simply second to none. They attract customers with an impressive selection of Polish, traditional dishes which, combined with elements of the Fusion style, make the taste unforgettable. Lunches or dinners may be topped with their homemade cakes and ice-cream desserts. Surrounded by the greenery of the Szczytnicki Park, with a view over the Wrocław Multimedia Fountain, Pergola will transform your evening meal into a magical spectacle of water, light and food.Certainly, one of the Wrocław enchanted places.

A legend of our street food, Pasibus, may be called by the citizens of Wrocław love at first bite. Their top-quality burgers and sauces are prepared on the basis of special, original recipes from fresh ingredients provided by local suppliers. The burgers are not only city`s best in taste but they are also very attractive visually resembling little pieces of art. The owners are really passionate about what they do and work extremely hard to create new flavours. Come and see for yourself that even truck food may be classified as art!We would especially like to recommend their mobile truck standing next to the Centennial Hall if you wish to have a quick bite for lunch, whereas, in the evenings, for appetising suppers, their restaurant, Stacja Pasibus, located in the Old Town, 150 metres from the Market Square, open till 1 o`clock on weekdays and till 3 at night at weekends.

What say you - a comfortable bench, a view over a fountain and sushi for lunch? The solution to the problem is simple - KOI SUSHI BAR. Specially for bridge players, during the WBG, KOI, starting at 10.00, will be waiting for phone orders to deliver the sets you have chosen to the Hall, during the lunch break between the sessions.KOI is located approximately 1500 meters from our venue, (it means a 15-minute walk through the park) in a little street in one of the oldest and most peaceful districts of Wrocław. It`s run by great fans of Asian cuisine who, due to their enthusiasm and magnificent flavours, have conquered the hearts of thousands of customers in the area.If you have enough of the city noise, KOI is a great proposition. You`ll spend an evening sipping plum wine and enjoying huge sashimi.

Bratwursty

Lokalizacja pod Halą Stulecia

Bratwursty is a common enterprise of two young boys, brothers at that, who share two major passions - cooking and street food and that`s why their dishes top the charts of Wrocław street food. Grilled sausages in a roll, famous German curry wursts, fried cheese in a roll or a sandwich with Dutch herrings (imported straight from the Netherlands) are great refreshments, no matter whether you feel slightly peckish or absolutely starving. The sausages and rolls served by Bratwursty, made by small, local family businesses, are later magically transformed by talented staff into various compositions to satisfy even the most discriminating palates.Their truck stands next to the Centennial Hall so it`s another place where you can order lunch and eat it sitting on one of the comfortable benches, admiring the beauty of the surroundings.

Shrimp House

Riding the wave of success, the brothers decided to open a special restaurant, Shrimp House, with the biggest selection of shrimp dishes, second to none in Wrocław. The menu ranges from classical Garlic Shrimp through Tempura Shrimp (baked in pastry), aromatic Curry Shrimp (with pineapples and sweet potatoes) to a delicious Shrimp Sandwich. The place is filled with the magnificent aroma of freshly prepared food and this special, electrifying atmosphere created by a young, passionate team, which, together with high-quality products, make „Shrimp House” worth visiting.
