Tigers News The Central Coast Cleaning Contractors First Grade Tigers had a really good contest at Tiger Park last Sunday, with both teams coming at each other for the entire game. The first half was a tit for tat affair where each time we scored they respond-ed which resulted in a 12-10 half time score line in the favour of the opposition. The second half was again a battle, however we were resilient when defending our own line and turned them away after defending multiple sets of six in a row. In attack we were able to come up with another two tries to extend the lead to 24-12 and come away with a hard earned win. I’m sure both teams would have known they were in a game and should be happy with their efforts.

The GTL Rapid Clean Reserve Grade Tigers hosted the Toukley Hawks in Round 12. The Tigers were clinical in the first half, outscoring their opponents 44-0. During the break the Tigers vowed to keep up the pressure and that’s exactly what they did. Some fantastic tries were scored and the defence stayed strong. The Tigers ran away with the match in dominant fashion 84-0. The MJM Open Age Tigers were at home to Toukley. We got away with a really good start by completing our sets an keeping penalties and errors at a minimum, going into halftime 50-4 up. To our boys credit we stuck to the game plan and came away winners 76-4. Best on day was Aaron, Griffin & Jackson Crane.

The Coca Cola Amatil Under 19 Tigers match against Toukley was our best per-formances of the year, shutting Toukley out 44–0. A strong start with power house charges and tough defence had us leading 22 nil at the break, with Wilson Hayes opening the scoring after an outstanding run, followed by a try from the silky skills of Kyle McCudden, both converted by Jackson Greaves for a 12–0 lead. Two tries late in the half to Chris (treadmill) Ball and hard running Jacob Kernick and a con-version by Jackson Greaves led to the half time score. In the second half we didn’t relent, scoring 4 more tries with another to Chris Ball, Kyle McCudden and Wilson Hayes and a further try to tyro Chris Staines. All in all, a great effort from the boys. 3 points and Players’ Player went to rampaging Reagan Harris, 2 points to the ever improving Wilson Hayes and 1 point each to that try scoring machine Chris Ball and cunningly clever Kyle McCudden. The Entrance Tigers Under 19s would like to thank and acknowledge our Major Sponsor The Entrance Leagues Club, our Major Jersey Sponsor Coca Cola-Amatil and all other Sponsors for their assistance throughout Season 2018 and hopefully this will continue in the future. The Pallister Promotions Ladies League Tag Tigers had a hard fought win against a determined Toukley outfit. Toukley is a much improved team and really took it the Tigers in a 30–0 Win. Best for The Entrance was Holly Buchanan taking out the 3 points, Brooke Peachey and Bree Dawson receiving the 2 and 1 points respectively. This week will require the Tigers to be at their best when they take on defending premiers the Terrigal Sharks. “TIGERS OF OLD DAY” – Sunday July 15th: all Former Committee, Coaches, Play-ers, Support Staff etc. are invited to Watch the Tigers take on Wyong at EDSACC. This will also be our Women in League Day, celebrating all the great things Women contribute to our game of Rugby League. See Club for More Details.

The Entrance Leagues Club and TERLFC would like to thank our 2018 Sponsors

The Sharks travelled to Berkeley Vale last Sunday and can away with victories in three of the four matches with the Firsts getting an invaluable two points. Huge matches for all sides this weekend against The Tigers.

The Terrigal-Wamberal Ladies League Tag team were dominant in their win over a committed Berkeley Vale team. The Sharks started well with two early tries to repre-sentative winger Rach Dobbie who finished the match with four four pointers.Matead Barber continued her good form scoring two tries and registering a number of line breaks throughout the match. Others to cross for four pointers were Rach Mortell, Rach Curnow, Em Hennessey, Tyra McEwen and Shannon Higgins. the Best and Fairest points went to Rach D three, Matead two with Claudia Symington and Meg Higgins sharing a point. Tyra was awarded Players Player. Hopefully we can get some time on the training paddock before this weeks big match against the high flying Tigers.

The T-W Sharks Open wish to thank Jeff and his Under 19s players (Harry, Brad, Oscar) who again helped out and let us field a very competitive side. The Sharks played with a lot of will and determination basically going try for try and it looked like we would race away with it but penalties and a sin bin with ten minutes left allowed Gosford to steal the win 26 to 20. Still there were a lot of positives to come out of it but imagine if we actually trained!! Players Player went to young Harry Meyn who plays his heart out every time I call on him to back up, the three points went to Jordan Takacs who really stepped up, tackled hard and had plenty of strong runs. The two points went to a hard working centre Wayne Collins while the one point was split between hard as nails Lincoln Stanley and Mitch Hall who gives his all every game

The Sharks Reserve grade side returned to the winners list with a comprehensive 40 - 14 win over a game Panthers side after leading 18 - 4 at the break. The Sharks were impressive in attack crossing for eight tries with Captain Coach Lachlan Strong crossing for two tries and having a huge influence on the match, receiving the Play-ers Player award and getting the two points. The three points went to a returning Josh Starr who always gives the extra ten percent, especially in defence, and was rewarded with a try while the one point went to Darcy Gilchrist who was gets through a lot of the hard work in the forwards. Good team effort. The T-W Sharks Firsts grade side had a tough afternoon even though they went to break leading 18 - 0 and nearly extended their lead straight after half time but some desperate defence from the Panthers gave them the opportunity to claw their way back into the contest . Any team that has Lincoln Tubridy and Alex Moore in it is sure to keep the opposition defenders on their toes . The Panthers got back to 18-10 midway through the second half before the Sharks regrouped and put the game out of reach . Best for the Sharks were Bailey Faull and Todd Lewis but they had plenty of help from Aaiden Wright, Nic Paul, Scott Schreiber and Ben Mooney .Big test today as we take on equal leaders The Entrance Tigers in what should give us a fair indica-tion of where we are at and where we have to get to.We wish to thank the following sponsors and hope you give them your support:

Hawks News Today marks 50 First Grade games for two of our most popular First Grade player - Kallin Adams and Reece Ryan. Good luck today and a big

CONGRATULATIONS from everyone at Toukley Hawks!!!!.

With our second away game to The Entrance Tigers, the boys started off really strong as we knew the tigers would be hard at home. It was up and down the field in the first half with the tigers nearly crossing over but from some great defence and both edges stop them going in. We led going into the break 12-10.The second half was much the same some 50/50 calls not going Toukley’s way and some lapses in defence resulted in the tigers crossing the line twice leaving the score 24 to 12 to The Entrance. The Boys played hard and com-petitive and shouldn’t be disappointed with themselves, 1 point each went to Taj Kennedy and Andrew Gay, 2 points again went to two players Rhys Ryan and Jake Fitzpatrick, 3 points and player’s player went to Kene Te Whata. We took on a very strong Entrance side and at times put up a strong effort but with a lot of missing troops , we proved no match to a very well drilled side .Best for hawks were Ethan Sante, Ted Adams and his first game back at Toukley for Dustin Baldry. What can I say other then the boys didn’t throw the towel in and tried the backsides off we were out classed in most areas of the game, well done to The Entrance. Big game this week with Erina. We have players returning from injury and work commitments we should make the travel a massive improve-ment from last week. The Poppi Concreting U/19’s travelled to The Entrance to take on the Tigers last Sunday. Football is a pretty basic game…….RUN HARD……..TACKLE HARD………unfortunately we struggled in these areas. The boys put some good plays on which nearly resulted in points if not for the final pass or try sav-ing tackle. The boys just need to realise they must play the game more physi-cal. Best for the Hawks were Hayden Allen who also received Players Player. Jye Tudehope & Kiran Page also had strong games. Well done again to Taj Kennedy for being selected in First Grade for the remainder of the season. Good effort TK. Thanks again to our sponsors; Poppi Concreting, Redmen Fire Protection & Bruce The Plumber for your ongoing support. The hawk’s ladies leaguetag side came up against the top of the table The Entrance this week. We knew it was going to be tough but I was really pleased with the teamwork and effort. We never gave up and worked hard together in defence especially in the 2nd half. We’ll keep working on our attack but there are a lot of positives we can take from this game. Best players this week were Georgia, Emma and Gee. Player’s player was Kaelah.

Toukley Hawks would like to acknowledge all our valued and much appreciated sponsors for their support

Open grade – a determined North Lakes Open Grade gave our boys a tough hit out on Sunday, in a tight 20-10 win. With a few of our stars out, it was good to see other players make the most of their opportunities! The Fox continued his good form, scoring 2 tries, and a couple of goals, Sanden & Richie were strong for us and Blake Storm picked up our Players Player. Overall we did enough to win but we will need to be better in the weeks ahead. Ladies league tag – the Erina girls played a much improved game today against a very competitive North Lakes side who are sitting in fifth spot and have plenty to play for. Our forwards set up the win with some good yard gaining runs up the mid-dle of the ruck which allowed our girls out wide plenty of space to run into. It was a hard fought win as North Lakes pushed us all the way. Best for Erina were Megan Lawler who was busy all game and her catching under the high ball was super. Jessie O’Brien was great in the halves and Em Haines did a good job at fullback. Everybody deserved points as it was a great team effort. For Northern Lakes Bri Frater was always involved at fullback, Karly Falzon made some great runs out wide and Hayley Dingle had a busy game. Bears News St Edwards Open Grade are proudly Sponsored by Terrigal Constructions, Gosford Sailing Club

and White Dickson Architects.

Storm News We notched our third win of the season last Sunday; scoring a hard fought 28-20 victory over the Sharks. I’ve no idea how the 3-2-1s panned out but big Jayden Stanley made a fair case to be awarded all six. The prop had a hand in five of the half dozen Storm tries and the Terrigal lads simply had no answer to his fearsome charges and Beetson like ball skills. On a gloriously purple afternoon; Eather, Lacey, Smith and Starr also caught the eye.Today we’re up at Kanwal to try our luck against the Roos. If we can hold the ball, defend like Trojans, and somehow manage to score more points than our opponents, then a boilover is not beyond the realms of possibility. I tip Gosford by 1 (- The Eye -).

A big thank you to our corporate supporters; The Elanora Hotel –East Gosford (Major Sponsor), Bartlett Construction, Hinterland Gosford, Seaman Concreting, Travo Corp Omid Corporation, & Vodaphone Gosford.

Sports Community Information20 quick and easy fundraising ideas you may not have heard of or simply forgotten. Why do clubs actually spend so much time fundraising? It is an interesting question and worth taking a second to consider...“Simply to minimise the cost of participation to members”Most clubs target members for their fundraising activities but in reality, this does not reduce the cost to members, it is just charging them in a different way. Clubs need to change their way of thinking about their fundraising activities and look for ways to target the broader com-munity to alleviate these costs. In saying this, we do not want to lose the social events and activities we are currently hosting because we know the main reasons people join clubs if for the social opportunities and relationships they create. Just think about how you can play around with some of the activities/events you already do to increase your fundraising opportunities at the same time. Here are 20 quick and easy fundraising ideas you may not have heard of or simply forgotten.

1. Increase membership2. Do what you already do, but actively promote it3. Create an online shop4. Sell photos5. Annual past members day6. Sports night7. Silent auction8. Sponsors corporate day9. Chocolate drive10. Kick a-thon

ISP CUP ROOS NEWS

10.

The players and coaching staff knew the Round 16 match against North Sydney could prove pivotal to Season 2018. Wyong had an opportunity to move within striking distance of the top eight with a win at Morry Breen Field against a Bears outfit which had been struggling to find its best combinations. Unfortunately for Roos supporters the match was over by the 27th minute as the visitors blew the home team away scoring better than a point per minute to lead 28-0. A late first half try to Nick O’Meley saw the teams hit the halftime sheds with Norths enjoying a 28-4 lead. Any hope of Wyong resuscitating its game disappeared in the opening stages of the second stanza when the Bears crossed for a further three tries. Wyong grabbed some consolation points late in the game with Brendan Frei, (58th min), Nick O’Meley (62nd min) and Reece Robinson (68th min) crossing the stripe. Final scoreline North Sydney 44 – Wyong 22. Without doing an-ything special the visitors were probably twice as good as the home team on the day. The Roos have a bye this weekend and will need to regroup before the Round 18 match against Black-town at Lottoland on 14 July.

LADIES LEAGUE TAG NEWSWith not many rounds left the 5th spot on the ladder will be a fight between Northern Lakes and Kincumber. While Northern Lakes played well against a well drilled Eagles side last weekend and Kincumber got the win over the Magpies this weekend will see them match up against each other. Best for Colts was Ranni Jackson while for the Warriors Bri Frater was outstanding. Terrigal continued their good form beating Berkeley Vale and The Entrance got the win over Toukley. Wyong and Woy Woy was a close encounter and while the Roos held Woy Woy to a nil score Woy Woy didn’t give up all game. Joeli Morris for Wyong was strong scoring two tries and being best on the field. This weekend it is the top of the table clash with The Entrance and Terrigal in what will be a great game of league tag with some great talent.

Roos News Wyong travelled to Woy Woy Oval for the Round 12 fixtures against the Roosters. The Open Age went down to the wire with the home team snatching a last minute victory, whilst the green and gold were comfortable winners in the other matches. Ladies League Tag – Sponsored by Dovmac Mining & Construction Wyong 16 – Woy Woy 0The Roos dominated field position from the outset. Woy Woy fought hard to make ground but a combination of handling errors from the home team and committed defence from the visitors confined the Roosters to their own territory for much of the first period. Joeli Morris scored a remarkable individual try in the 7th minute, twisting, turning and stepping her way through many attempted tags on a 30m run to the line. Olivia Glanville converted to give Wyong a 6-0 lead. Although the Roos camped themselves in Woy Woy real estate, they found it very difficult to break down the home team’s defence. The visitors did not score again until the 22nd minute. Sarah Dimech made a clean break on halfway and sprinted into the backfield. Joeli loomed on the inside as the fullback converged and once the pass was delivered it then became a footrace to the line. Joeli was too quick. Tanaya Millar converted and Wyong led 12-0 at the break. The Roosters had more success in the second half, at one point forcing Wyong to defend five consecutive sets inside the green and gold 20m line. The Roos defended their way out of trouble. Sarah grabbed the ball at first receiver in the 37th minute, dummied and accelerated to the posts as the defence moved past the ball. The Roosters are on the rise and were particularly well served in his match by Ashlee Pauletto. Unforced errors in possession remains an issue for Wyong. The Players’ Player Award went to Joeli and the Coach’s Award to Sarah.Under 19’s – Sponsored by Fill & Carry Fruit Market at Kanwal Village. Wyong 54 – Woy Woy 1The visitors led 24-0 at halftime and had played some energetic and highly skilled football in reaching that scoreline. Tomi Kaati (8th min), Harry Edwards (17th min), Brad Falzon (22nd min) and Luke Cain (31st min) each touched down for the Roos. Jai Hupton advanced Wyong to the opposition 30m line with a big free kick in the first minute of the second stanza. The visitors were within striking distance. Eventually the ball came to Hupton and he stepped four times off his right foot to tear apart the defence and dive over. The next posses-sion set, Sam Grose split the home team from acting half and put Luke Cain away to score his second of the morning. Ray Kaifa laid a platform with a strong charge in the 17th minute. The Roos spread the ball left. Cain put Kaati on the outside of his marker. Kaati offloaded to an unmarked Codie Hansen for the winger to score. Kaati cut through in the 27th minute and raced into the backfield before giving Sam Grose an unimpeded run to the line. Kaati then split the defence from the restart drew the fullback and offloaded for Kye Leaudais to score. The Roos were more composed in this match than the previous fixture against Terrigal and were better able to utilise their many attacking weapons. The Roosters faded in and out of this game but were still in there swinging at the end. Kaati was Players’ Player and Grose the No Coward Award winner. Open Age – Sponsored by Citrus Clean Central Coast Woy Woy 26 - Wyong 24Prior to kick off a pandemic of tackling amnesia had swept through both teams and infected all but a few players. The visitors scored first in the 6th minute. After pressuring the home team in Woy Woy territory, the Roos went right for Billy Coughlan to reach out one handed and plant the ball. Wyong doubled up in the 9th minute. The Roosters lost possession on the Roos 20m line. Chris Brown swooped and raced 80m to score. Pan Kaaka converted both tries to give the green and gold a 12-0 lead. Orisi Ranavue brushed past some ineffec-tive tacklers in the 13th minute to open the home team’s scoring, then doubled up himself in the 18th minute, chasing down a late tackle kick. Ben Webber converted both tries to level the scoreline. Beau Bovis strolled through some non-existent Roos defence in the 24th minute to crash over and with Webber kicking a penalty goal right on halftime, the home team took an 18-12 lead into the break. Wyong started the second half playing quicker and more direct. The change bore fruit. Kane Ralph scored a converted try in the 42nd minute and Kaaka kicked a penalty goal in the 47th minute for the Roos to reclaim the lead 20-18. Webber goaled in the 50th minute to level the scores once again, but when Ralph crossed for his second in the 58th minute, the 24-20 lead looked as though it might be enough. The Roosters engineered one last opportunity in the 66th minute, and again it was Beau Bovis pushing his way through despite plenty of Wyong players being in position to stop him. Webber converted for the final scoreline. Lachlan Natapu was voted Players’ Player. The No Coward Award went to Zac Ryan.Reserve Grade – Sponsored by Optus Lakehaven Wyong 26 – Woy Woy 10The Roos led 12-4 at halftime. Roosters five eighth, Ernie McGillicuddy, strolled through the Wyong defence in the 52nd minute and with the conversion, it was game on at 12-10. The result hinged on which team had the greater desire over the final 15 minutes. Woy Woy wilted. Tamu Mausii poked his nose through a half hole in the 57th minute, spun in the tackle and offloaded to Tomi Kaati. The Roos Under 19 skipper moved laterally and passed flat to a steaming Taniela Tangulu. Big Nella was unstoppable that close to the line. Jesse Stephen converted to give the visitors some breathing space. Aaron Heaven punctured the home team defence in the 66th minute and found fresh air inside the opposition half. Heaven passed to Jake Scicluna who then released Bryce Burgun down the paint. Stephen missed the conversion, but the Woy Woy coffin had been nailed shut. Scicluna wrestled his way over in the 68th minute to complete the scoring. The Roosters have some credentials in this grade but lacked the necessary steel on the day. The Wyong performance was even more creditable given the number of regulars absent from this match. Tallis Angianga received the Players’ Player gong and Mausii the No Coward Award.

WOMEN’S TACKLE A great win by our women’srugby league team on Saturday Winning 16-0 over Stockton and are now in Grand Final of the Central Coast/Newcastle competition. The Grand Final will be played on Saturday 14th July at 12noon at Waratah Oval in Newcastle, we are looking at getting a supporter’s bus if interested please see Boof or Graham.FIRST GRADEOur home game against the sharks didn’t go to plan but unfortunately that has been the story of our season...can’t get a bounce go our way and decisions have definitely went against us at every turn. In saying that our boys are sticking together, showing up to the preso every week even after some tough loses, that’s character lads, makes me a proud oldmanager. Players player and the 3 points went to the biggest bloke onthe field Noofy the lunatic,2 points to JJ and a couple of 1 pointers to Friartuck and Croady. Great to see the ever-green Steven Lyons contributed to the carton club by spending a sneaky ten in the sheds...Laurie would have given you a spell if you needed it but the ref probably deserved a spray!!! What would have been good was a pie after the game but appar-ently the Reggie’s managers cleaned the joint out...thanks fellas.Cheers...Johno LEAGUE TAGThe girls played a very good Terrigal team, with all the skills that unfor-tunately the referees don’t pick up on. To their credit they can fend using the ball and volunteer a tag without a penalty because of their skill level, and we can be penalised for a play the ball infringement at 42 to nil. To our girls credit we keep on going and we will be there again next week.Players player went to Breah, with points to Breah, Taelah and Tahlia.

1st Grade – Sponsored by Evolution Security Wyong 44 – Woy Woy 12A run of recent good form had the Roosters liking their chances in this match. However, down 22-6 at halftime and with little working against the Roos fast moving and well or-ganised defence, it was pretty much game over at the break. Alex and Daniel Langbridge combined in the 43rd minute to release Kye Martin into the backfield and the Wyong left centre did the rest. Martin made a long break in the 48th minute which ended with a trip to the sin bin for one Woy Woy defender. Jarrod Kessler scored soon after the restart. The Roosters grabbed their second try from a crossfield kick in the 54th minute, narrowing the scoreline to 34-12 with Chris Hyde’s conversion. Luke Dolbel executed a one on one strip in the 70th minute and took off like a stabbed rat. Despite pulling a hamstring en route, the Wyong right centre found the ingoal. Kessler scored his second in the 74th minute, half vol-leying a pass from Alex Langbridge at pace then diving over. Minus many regulars those given the opportunity stepped up in this match and vindicated their selection and the faith shown by Coach Clarke. Nice rebound from a substandard effort against Terrigal. Plenty to like about this performance, not the least the professional attitude and application of Under 17 Jaron Purcell, who played many minutes and effectively completed all his tasks. Difficult to say where the Roosters go from here. Purcell was an unsurprising Players’ Player and also received the No Coward Award.

We’d love to see you there.Ladies Report:The girls fought hard against the high flying Eagles. With only 1 re-serve the girls battled hard till the end going down by 22 points to 8. The girls never gave in. Thank you Kerry S for doing the club raffles at the bowlo by yourself last Saturday. It is very much appreciated. Best players were Bree and Sam. 3rd Grade ReportGreat performance again by the thirsty thirds against the highly placed Eagles. The boys were very committed in defence and at times played over their fancied rivals. The boys went down with their heads high by 20 points to 10. It is do or die time for the boys so let’s band together and make it happen. A well deserved bye this week will see the boys refresh and make a charge in the back end of the second round.2nd Grade ReportThe Warriors reserve grade are slowly building into a formidable squad. The boys came out with great commitment right from the first whistle and took control of the game early into the first half racing in a couple of quality tries. The boys effort and attitude were never in question and they went on with the job in the second half running out convincing winners by 40 points to 12. Welcome back to Wrighty and Zak who played strongly for their first game with the Warriors in 2018. Kiwi, Burns and Wrighty were very strong for the Warriors. Keep the roll going Boys.

Colts News Mixed Day for the Colts in Round 12 at Mackillop last week with our top grades going down narrowly and our 19’s and Tag sides recording nice wins. 1st Grade and Reserves with 10 players out injured stretched our resources a bit but still were in positions to win and while 1st grade will love the Bye the Reserves have a tough encounter with a strengthened Northlakes at Doylo. The Tag girls also have a must win game if they want to compete at the semis and should be full of confidence after a nice win last start.Sydney Markets Reserve GradeThe Sydney Markets Limited 2nd Grade side had a tough day at the office with our depth tested. Multiple injuries and a host of new players helping out wasn’t enough to get us over the line. It seemed like a game of touch football at one point with over 50 points being scored in the 1st half.(3) points went to Tyler Durbidge who topped the tackle count (again) and never stopped trying all day, massive minutes and a great effort.(2) points went to Karl Reeves who week in & week out keeps playing above his weight and never stops. (1) point went to Luke Maljovic who tried every trick in the book to spark the side but to know avail. Players Player went to Ben Wenzel who turns up every week, trains his heart out, never complains about the amount of minutes he gets & just goes about his business. Massive thankyou to him for being a great team man. Off to Northern Lakes were it will be another tough day. Sidelines Sports & Grill Under 19’sGreat to see the boys back playing the type of footy that can have us playing in the big games at the end of the season.Completions were back to a respectful 75% and only giving away 6 pen-alties to our opposition was the complete opposite to the performances we have been putting in the last couple of games.Great games by everyone but points this week went to Fletcher Watson 1 Point, 2 Points to Tyler Park and 3 Points to Finn Mitchell. Players Player went to Jesse Byrne

BJ Howes Metaland Lisarow & Charmhaven First Grade Team Report – The Our-imbah Magpies 1st grade side bounced back to form despite a tough opposition and 38% possession. Although racked with injury and late withdrawals the Maggies battled against an horrific penalty count and a first half sin binning to come over the top of the Colts. The Magpies appreciate the comments from supporters / and coaching staff from both teams , who had paid entry into the game , the majority left clueless . A blight on an otherwise close contest. That said , it is important to focus on the positives to come out of the match , played between the 34 warriors . Darcy Etrich was at his piercing best , Fisky cover tackle after playing 80 minutes saved the game , Ali Beale uncatchable bombs along with Josh Foley created havoc. Jye Newton is getting better having now played 2 games back to back & congratulations to Ben Mau on his debut with some great touches .The boys look forward to our 4th home game of the year today , against the Woy Woy Roosters who are playing well. To our loyal supporters we appreciate those who travelled last weekend and played a part in us scrambling in the dying minutes .Welcome to Woy Woy who up until last weekend have been one of the form sides of the competition . It’s a week to week proposition for all sides other than the two heavyweights , giving some real interest in the battle for semi-finals.Duncan Excavations Reserve Grade Team Report - The Ourimbah Magpies 2nd grade side game was a tryathon in the first half with Ourimbah taking a small lead 28-26 at half time. The second half saw Ourimbah remember some of their de-fensive responsibilities and they ran out winners 40-30. Points this week went to Jayden Paulley, Ethan Williams and Damian Takarua with Damo taking out players player.Anytime Fitness Wyoming Ladies League Tag Team Report - The Ourimbah Mag-pies Ladies team tried hard on Sunday without a lot of reward. It was a tough week with weather and not being able to train. Let’s hope the weather is better this week and we can get a couple of good sessions in.Everyone is welcome to attend our after match presentations to be held at the Tall Timbers Hotel @ Ourimbah from 5pm with refreshments and excellent meals avail-able, so please bring your families and all kids are more than welcome to attend. Roosters News Woy Woy RLFC Round 12 Report / Round 13 Program: Round 13 see’s the Roosters hosted by Ourimbah at Sohier Park today. Thanks to all our supporters who headed across to the footy today and to the Ourimbah Club for hosting us.Last Sunday was a hard one for the club as a whole taking on Wyong with only the Open Age team getting a win.All grades showed a lot of spirit and are well prepared and eager to go today.

The B&J Asphalting Ladies League Tag team took on Wyong, with a much-improved effort all round. The first half we had to defend for a majority of the half and it was a great effort to only be behind 12-0 at the break. In the second half the girls had a lot more ball and had the opposition under pressure for long periods of play. In the end it was just our execution that let us down and Wyong took the points winning 16-0.Great effort by all the girls. The points went 3 and Players Player to Sarah Walker, 2 to Ellie Hipwell Renee Jackson got 1 point. The Phil’s Car Repairs Under 19’s boys went into the game lacking numbers, but every player had a dig and didn’t let their mates down.Wyong were too good on the day and will be hard to beat for the premiership this year.Woy Woy Leagues Open Age got away with a tight win 26-24 over the Roos who were 2 points ahead on the table The Bovis brothers both strong games as did Orisi.Beau and Orisi both crossed for 2 tries a piece and Ben Webber kicked 5 goals.

The S&M Contracting 2nd Grade up against the competition leaders were beaten by a better team on the day. Great to see Zane Rickit back on the paddock, Zane picked up one try as did the ever consistent Ernie McGillicuddy with Jake Williams plotting one goal.

The Versatile Homes 1st grade team took on an understrength Wyong Roos outfit that were not to be taken lightly! As it has been for the previous 2 months, the at-titude amongst the boys was top shelf before the game, however that all went out the window when Jake Shearer decided to carry the ball back into the change rooms from the kick off!The boys uncharacteristically could not defend their line and within 1min the Roos had crossed for a 6 nil lead. The going got tough as we were ill disciplined and before you knew it, Wyong had thrown 10 points up on the board. The troops managed to keep their composure and get back into the grind. Rotund Tom Reid, the real deal, the sex factor, grasped onto a nice ball from Justin Muscles McDermott from 30m out and only had eyes for the try line as he pinned his hairy ears back and rolled over for a try. After a dicey start, we had got back on track, 10-6. We didn’t stay on the track for long as young Campbell looked more like a jester as he juggled the ball from the kick off and ultimately spilt his lollies. Then it got ugly.We could not sustain any decent amount of possession to build some momentum and get good consistent field position. Some ordinary tries saw the Wyong take a 22-6 lead into the sheds. Positivity was all the rage in the sheds at oranges and the boys were still relatively upbeat considering the previous 40mins.It didn’t do much good, the boys from up north had scored again within 5mins.A great finish from Ernie McGillicuddy saw the Roosters cross over again, but when it’s not your day it’s just not your day and Wyong were not to be denied.Full credit to Wyong, they were flying out of the line all day with Usain Bolt like line speed and played a simple but effective game of footy.I’m sure the Roosters will pick themselves up off the canvas and turn in a beaut per-formance today vs the Maggies. My points went 3 to Chris Hyde, 2 to Kyle McLean and 1 to Justin McDermott.Report filed by grandstand cadet reporter – M.FawcettUp the Roosters
