In the case of the United States couple, appropriate gifts will be presented to them at a ceremony to be held at their location during Valentine’s week. The state winners will receive personal recogni-tion and a special certificate of achievement during that same time frame from the World-wide Marriage Encounter movement. For more information go to wwme.org.

3. Have you nominated a longest married cou-ple? Now is the time to honor couples who have had long marriages. This annual search is sponsored by Worldwide Marriage En-counter. For more information go to wwme.org.

Next weekend we will be collection non-perishable food items for our local food panty. The need is great dur-ing the cold winter months.

Christmas week will be our busiest week of the year. We have 170 bags of food packed and Sunday the LCC Congregation will pack another 120 bags. We will be ready to serve 240 families with 50 bags ready to start the New Year. Thanksgiving….220 fami-lies served. The perishable food came from Costco, Marianos, Community Keepers and the GCFD Food Rescue program that picks up food from many of the large stores including Marianos, Jewel, Meijers, Sam’s Club, Target and others. The left over perishable food was delivered to Journeys , Compass NW [CEDA], Wheeling Township, Catholic Charities and Salvation Army. Religious Education

Our Advent Prayer Service for Students, Catechists, and Parents was a wonderful experience. After hearing different readings from Isaiah connected with the traditional “O Antiphons,” families sang Christmas Carols and enjoyed cookies and cocoa. They also created cards for a young person suf-fering with a terminal illness to help make his season bright and to know he is in the hearts and minds of many. See some of the pictures in another part of the bulletin.

Parents will have their scheduled conference with their student’s catechist this Wednesday, January 7, except for Mrs. Quadros’s class. Her conferences will be in the evening of Jan. 14. Please call the office at extension 129 if you have misplaced or lost your schedule. Classes will resume for stu-dents on Jan. 14.

Mrs. Meek is out of town this week and will return on the 13th of January. Carol is available for any questions and for new registrations for our new and transferring students at extension 129.

Liturgical Ministers

It’s time once again to begin compiling the information of availability of ministers during February through the end of May. If you did not receive a letter in your e-mail, there are forms available in the sacristy. Please return them as soon as possible.

Please Consider!

As we begin this New Year, perhaps you made a resolution to get more involved in the life of your parish. We have lots of opportunities! We are particularly in need of additional Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, and Faith Formation Commission Members. For more information on any of the above, contact Mary Catherine after January 13.
