Dear Theatregoer,

It is my pleasure to introduce our audiences present and future to our new season’s

offering of exciting and diverse events. Here at the Epstein Theatre we have been working hard to expand our offering with an eclectic mix of comedy, live music, drama, children’s

theatre, musicals, variety and burlesque, leading to our amazing Christmas Pantomime.

The Epstein Theatre has been steadily building its repertoire and reputation as a

family venue and we welcome our audiences from pre-school to our more worldly and

mature audiences. We will continue to be one of Liverpool’s favourite venues and continue to offer a variety of entertainment to the city

and beyond.

This September we also open up the venue for a whole host of new ventures including;

corporate events, conferences, weddings and special occasions. These can be held in our beautiful auditorium or in our vintage bar.

The new season also sees us launch our new offering for young people with Kreative Kaos

youth theatre every Saturday morning.

We hope you enjoy reading our new brochure and look forward to seeing you at the Epstein

Theatre this season.

- Best wishes -REBEKAH PICHILINGI

Featuring former members of Peter Gabriel Band, King Crimson, Shriekback, Carpet Crawlers UK, The Security Project not only recreates these masterpieces live, but gives them new musical wings for the 21st century. “Scary Good Show!” raves Progression Magazine after their premiere in New York City. Noted musicians also have given a thumbs up, including Tony Levin, Larry Fast (both from Gabriel’s band) Steve Hackett (Genesis), Jon Anderson (Yes), Mixer/Producer Tom Lord-Alge, and analyst Lilywhite Leigh.

With Gabriel now a double-inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame The Security Project deliver the most adventurous music from his first five solo albums.

RESTORATION LEVYThe Epstein Theatre pride themselves on their prestigious venue, and constantly aim to enhance the audience experience, delivering a high level of service and restore and improve the beautiful hidden gem of a theatre. As a non-funded organisation the introduction of a Restoration Levy is now in place to enable us to carry out the continuous work needed to maintain the former glory of the theatre which is now over 100 years old.

Originally opened as Crane’s Music Hall in 1913 it was a popular location for recitals and performances and was later renamed Crane Theatre in 1938. In 1967 it became the popular Neptune Theatre, but closed in 2005. After undergoing a £1million refurbishment back in 2011 and renamed ‘The Epstein Theatre’ in honour of former Beatles manager Brian Epstein, the theatre is now one of Liverpool’s favourite venues, right in the heart of the city centre.2013 saw the theatre celebrate its Centenary birthday, and as we look forward to the next 100 years we want to maintain the exceptional features and architecture you have come to know and love from the theatre in the sky, which is why we have implemented a charge of 50p per ticket, as a measure to improve and protect the theatres future and we thank you for your support and continuous custom.
