(Continued from Page 1)unccs, came up for trial on the chargeof living off the earnings of Adella, one of the women of Iwilel. Morchgot himself Into trouble by thrashingAdella. His blows turned her truelove into bitterness, and she bad himarrested for living off her earnings.

Morch seemed lo have an Idea thatho had engaged, Judge clear to defendhim, but Q car's clerk stated that theJudgo had nothing to do with the case.

Morch admitted that he had beenliving with the woman for the pastnine months, but only for tho purposeof reforming her and turning her fromher evil ways, which pained hint deeply. He Indignantly dented that he liv-

ed on money earned by Adella. Hewas a working man, he said, and Informed the Court that he had workedsix days on the Manchuria and severaldays during the past nine months ontho coal wharves. Ho knew tbe kindof business lu which Adella was en-

gaged, but had never aided or abettedII.

Although Morch Is probably one ofthe parasites who Infest Iwilel. thocase against him was so weak thathad he had on attorney, It Is Im-

probable that he would have been heldan tho charge. As It was, Judgo Whitney held him over to the Orand Jury.

Mrs. Wahlue Laxarus charges herhusband Alexander with havingthrcuteued to kill her, and she askedllin Court tci put him under boudB tokeep tho peace. The case was set fortrial tomorrow. Alexander will spendDie day under the earn of Jack Molan-ph-

tu insure against his tarrying outhis alleged threat In tho meantime.

I.ucclvago Is an old East Indian whomakes a precarious living by pickingup ragB and bottles. He must havedono well recently, for he managed loaccumulate enough to get drunk on.Ills thin old legs were weak and wobbly as ho stood before Judge Whitneythis morning charged with drunken-ness. Andrade stated that It wasdoubtful If the old man could raiseenough to pay a fine, and as this was

his first appearance, ho moved that senbe suspended for 13 months,

Tho Judge, so ordered, and Lucelvago
