C R A I G E L L A C H I E

Craigellachie is the rock at the heart of Speyside yet is anything but your typical ‘Speyside’ whisky. Considered old fashioned even in 1891; some might call the distillery stubborn or eccentric, but we believe it’s stayed true to traditions.

Founded by two whisky icons in 1891, Peter Mackie – a skilled whisky maker – and Alexander Edwards – businessman and whisky connoisseur.

Yin and Yang, the distillery enveloped – and still does – the old and the new of the whisky world – one of the first to balance tradition and innovation.

We still choose to do things the old fashioned way, even if it’s more challenging, because it’s the right way for us. That’s why we continue to use old fashioned worm tubs

in our distillation process and are the only ones to oil fire our malt, giving our whisky a more muscular flavour than others. It has made us the world’s best single malt whisky.
