API 2030 INTERNSHIP Spring Semester 2015

 

The American Petroleum Institute/Indiana Petroleum Council is proud to announce the creation of an internship for the 2015 Spring Semester. The API and the Indiana Petroleum Council are committed to providing young leaders with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and gain exposure to the public sector. The API Internship Program will provide hands-on experience and cultivate such skills. The selected applicant will spend the Spring 2015 semester as an intern in the program. The selected applicant will be compensated with a stipend as well as costs for traveling (transportation, meals, lodging) when not in Indianapolis, Indiana. Selection as an API Intern will be based on the following criteria:

Commitment to public service

Demonstrated leadership on campus and/or in the community

Excellent communication skills and scholarship (2.8 or above is required)

All majors will be considered, but emphasis will be placed on Public and Environmental Affairs, Economics, Engineering and Business degrees.

Duties Enter, process, and update data as it affects benefits for all status changes.

Assemble and maintain complete and accurate paper and online benefits files.

Regularly review employees’ full time/part time status to determine change in benefits eligibility.

Provide vendors appropriate documentation for life, retirement, and disability benefit claims.

Process 403B hardship withdrawals and loans.

Ensure compliance with record retention laws. Coordinate purging of inactive employee benefit files.

Run monthly eligibility report for benefits and schedule new hire meetings.

Track all benefit eligible employees in HRIS system and send notification to managers when necessary.

Track employee benefits and send benefits termination letters notifying of coverage end dates.

Perform data entry into all appropriate databases.

Assist with annual enrollment and track updates and distribution of benefits manual.

Provide back up support and assistance to the Benefits, Compensation and Wellness Team.

Manage documentation related to bonus programs.
