The first armored vehicles were designed with plating for protection
against bullets, shells and other projectiles.

Tanks were use more then armored vehicles because tanks wouldn’t get stuck in the mud alone the trenches as easy.
The cars were shielded with 3/8" thick armor plate, fitted with dual rear axles and two machine guns, with 3,000 rounds of ammunition.
The Austro-Daimler armored vehicle was developed in Austria during 1904 and it was the first military four wheel drive application,
desgins for a massive troop transporter but as a truer picture of front-line conditions was developed the aims of the investigation changed.
