A Note from the DirectorWhen I fell in love with Hello, Dolly! at a younger age,

I’m pretty sure it was because of the magnitude of ev-erything – big musical numbers, towering costumes, and larger-than-life characters. Now that I see it through expe-rienced eyes, I appreciate the smaller, more subtle aspects – the struggle for financial security, the desire to live life to the fullest, the never-ending need to be loved... and the joy of knowing you are.

Thank you for coming and joining Dolly, Horace and I as we refuse to let the parade pass us by.

~Tom Fricke ~

Hello, Dolly Biographies cont.Cherie Turner (Choreographer) has been dancing since kindergarten.

Her first on-stage role was in Chicago, and she has managed props and the backstage for six DLO and youth shows. Cherie thanks DLO for a fun, family activity that lets her involve her girls. She also thanks family and friends for putting up with her fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants schedule.

Ann Wagle (Accompanist) enjoys the music and spirit of Dolly, since it was the first musical she accompanied in the ‘70’s at Bismarck High School. Plus Ann remembers some of the songs of this delightful and timeless musical as if it were yesterday. Ann wants to thank Karen and DLO for the opportunity to revisit and enjoy.

Hello, Dolly BiographiesJason Asaad (Ambrose Kemper) would like to welcome everyone to

Hello, Dolly! Appearing on the stage numerous times, Jason’s last perfor-mance was as Caleb in The Spitfire Grill, a DLO production last winter. He is quite appreciative of the continued support from his friends and family. He hopes everyone enjoys the show.

Michelle Bahr (Irene Molloy) is delighted to be in her first production at DLO and thrilled to be back on the stage instead of behind the scenes! During the day, Michelle teaches at Edison Middle School in Champaign and directs the choir at FUMC in Urbana. Thanks to Dan, Mom, and Dad for their constant love and support.

Beckey Burgoyne (Dolly Levi) is thrilled to be appearing in her first lead role for DLO. Beckey also appeared in Ragtime, Cinderella and The Andrew Lloyd Webber review. Becky recently released a biography of actress Amanda Blake (Gunsmoke’s Miss Kitty.) Beckey wishes to thank Rick, her ever-supportive husband, and dear family and friends for their love and encouragement.

Mary Ann Cecil (Ernestina Money) hopes that this, her first appear-ance with DLO, will usher in a long relationship. With a background of acting in plays in California and Texas, musicals are becoming a favorite theatre experience for Mary Ann. She’s performed in Myers Theatre’s Titanic and Anything Goes. She adds that being part of Hello, Dolly! has been great fun.

Chelsea Collier (Ermengarde Vandergelder) is making her first appearance with DLO. She recently portrayed Maria in Lincoln Park’s The Sound of Music. She is glad to be a part of the Danville theater scene and feels supremely lucky to be surrounded by such a talented troupe of professionals. Thanks to all for a truly great experience.

Tom Fricke (Director) is undertaking his first show as the director, and it’s been a great experience. Tom’s been involved with nearly every aspect of DLO productions since 2000 – producing, lighting, set construction, and recently appearing in The Civil War and The Music Man. Tom also serves on the DLO Board. He’s enjoyed bringing this production to life with his wife, Mary Ellen.

Program Hello Dolly.indd 10 10/13/2010 3:08:31 PM

Mary Ellen Fricke (Producer) has caught the “theater bug” that her husband Tom has warned her about. Although she’s been lurking in the backgrounds for years, this is her first official role with DLO. She thanks Tom for his patience and eagerness to show her the ropes. Achoo! Who will catch the bug next?!

Karen Grove (Music Director) has been involved in numerous produc-tions with DLO since the early nineties. If she is not directing music, she’s playing flute or keyboard in the orchestra. Karen enjoys seeing a show “come together.” She thanks everyone in the show for being so much fun to work with and to her husband for being so supportive.

Cole Huber (Cornelius Hackl) is ecstatic to be in his first DLO perfor-mance. His favorite past roles have been Curly in Oklahoma, Dauntless in Once Upon a Mattress and Albert in Bye, Bye, Birdie. He also directed Rumors and Lend Me a Tenor. Thanks to my family, friends and Will Schuester for the inspiration to get on stage again.

Stephanie Keller (Minnie Fay) appeared on the stage seven years ago and has been going ever since. She has been stage manager and choreog-rapher. She also acts, most recently in Cabaret and Secret Garden. Stepha-nie directed DLO youth productions and looks forward to directing A… My Name Is Alice. She thanks her theater family for their treasured support.

Ron McDaniel (Horace Vandergelder) is appearing in Hello, Dolly! for the third time. In 1971 he portrayed Cornelius in DLO’s first Dolly production. Then, in 1984 he played Horace when Gregory Productions staged the show. Ron has acted in 45 plays and musicals, directed six and had small parts in four independent films. Earlier this year he celebrated 50 years as an editor in the publishing industry.

Kalen McGowan (Barnaby Tucker) has graced the stage for three years. He was in four DLO shows, including The Civil War and Wipe Out. He also appeared in Westville High School and Red Mask performances. Kalen is a sophomore at Westville High School and is currently in the musical Snoopy. He was taught and inspired by Mrs. Ross of Westville.

Brad Pollert (Rudolph) is pleased to be on stage for his sixth DLO per-formance. His last appearance was in The Civil War, where he was honored to be cast as Lochran. Brad and his wife, Linda own Service Termite and Pest Control and Holey Moley Mole Control.
