Description:
Did God arbitrarily elected some of the totally depraved and totally disabled people to salvation and heaven while purposely and arbitrarily choosing to design others for condemnation and eternal hell for something they could not change? This lesson looks at the doctrine of "Unconditional Election". What does the Bible really say? www.pinelanechurchofchrist.com

Unchangeable Design is a Mockery of Justice

Unchangeable Design is a Mockery of Justice

Calvinism makes God unjust.

It denies the free-will of man.

It blames man for what he cannot help or change.

There is no battle between good and evil for the will.

The game of life is fully staged and every move is what God designed to happen.

This doctrine made many atheists.

It caused many to lose hope of being elected.

Calvinism:Unconditional Election

• What Do The Creeds of Men Say?• “We say, then, that Scripture clearly proves this

much, that God by his eternal and immutable counsel determined once for all those whom it was his pleasure one day to admit to salvation, and those whom, on the other hand, it was his pleasure to doom to destruction. We maintain that this counsel, as regards the elect, is founded on his free mercy, without any respect to human worth, while those whom he dooms to destruction are excluded from access to life by a just and blameless, but at the same time incomprehensible judgment.” (John Calvin)

• What Do The Creeds of Men Say?• “By the decree of God, for the manifestation of

his glory, some men and angels are predestinated unto everlasting life, and others foreordained to everlasting death. These angels and men thus predestinated and foreordained are particularly and unchangeably designed and their number is so certain and definite that it can not be either increased or diminished.” (Presbyterian Confession of Faith, chap. 3, sec. 3,4,5)

Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" 21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

Calvinist’s Proof-textsCalvinist’s Proof-texts Acts 13:45-48 45 But when the Jews saw the

multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us:

'I have set you as a light to the Gentiles,

That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.'"*

48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

is accepted by Him.”
