Was Juan de Ulibarri the same as Juan Uribarri, baptized by Antoñio Ulibarri? Antonio Ulibarri was godfather to five Indians in Nov 1738[Isleta Baptisms p. 102]: Maria Uribarri, Juan Antonio Uribarri, Xptoval Uribarri, Juan Uribarri, and Josefa Uribarri. The ages of the children(presumably they were children) was not given.

Juan de Ulibarri, Apache of unknown parents, married Rosalia Armijo, coyote daughter of unknown parents” on July 7, 1732. Witnesses: JuanGonzales and Casilda Gonzales. [AM NMG XXI:3 p. 51]

Rosalia Duran de Armijo (Marques) was the real daughter of Jose Duran de Armijo and Maria Manuela Velasquez, but she was givento Antonio de Ulibarri and Maria Duran y Chaves to raise as an adopted daughter because they could not have children. [Origins of NewMexico Families Chavez, 1992 p. 300] Rosalia sued for her adoptive mother's inheritance in 1732. [SANM I, #236, 1732].

An April 21, 1733 document entitled “Petitions of some half-breed Ind ians (genizaros) of various tribes, who had abandoned their tribalrelations, to settle at the deserted pueblo of Sandia; denied by Governor Cruzat y Gongora”, listed “Juan de Uribarri, Apache; married to Rosa;has a son.” [SANM I #1208, 1733]

Juan be Ulibarri and Rosa Armijo were godparents of Feliciana Baca "Spanish" daughter of unknown parents, bt. Mar 2, 1749 [AB p. 64].

Page 81 of the 1750 Census, Albuquerque, contains the following information:Juan de Ulibarri, Indian, 60 (DOB 1690); wife Rosalia Armijo, Spanish, 40 (DOB 1710); three children: Pedro Chrisostomo 16(DOB 1734), Juana 15 (DOB 1735), Joachim 8 (DOB 1742); two orphans, Andres 7, Bernarda 6, and Juana M aria, Indian 6.

Pedro Cristostomo Ulibarri married MARIA FRANCISCA RAEL DE AGUILAR, daughter of USEBIO RAEL DEAGUILAR, another settler of the 1763 Carnué Land Grant. [SANM II 1767-1779 Reel 10, Frames #405-445, Twitchell #636,LDS 0581468]

Juan Ulibarri and his mother, Rosalia Armijo, baptized a child named Ana Maria de Jesus Montoya, the daughter of RafaelMontoya and Maria Antonia Apodaca, "Indians of Carnuel", on July 16, 1766 [AB p. 431].

During the investigation into the stolen cattle which Pedro Crisostomo reported in Carnué in 1768, Usebio Rael de Aguilartestified that he was a resident of Carnuel, that he was the father-in-law of Pedro Crisostomo, and that he was over 60 years of age.Pedro Crisostomo states in his own declaration that he is 30 years old (born 1738), but he refers to his father-in-law by his propername and does not reveal their relationship. He states that Usebio Rael de Aguilar did receive stolen cattle, although his father-in-law denied it. [SANM II 1767-1779 Reel 10, Frames #405-445, Twitchell #636, LDS 0581468]

Juana Gertrudis Ulibarri married Jose Laureano Lopez on April 20, 1753 [AM NMG XXI:3 p. 56] Witnesses at the marriage wereJuan Zamora and his wife Ines Candelaria, Mulatos, who themselves were married on March 19, 1742 while "both single". [AMNMG XXI:3 p. 54]
