The football kicking tee
The football equipment that football teams use today to help the special team that use these objects.
Functions of the kicking tee
The kicking tee is made for holding the football in a stable positions so the ball won’t fall out of place.
The open design of the tee allows the football to be kicked in different positions.
Major materials
One of the major materials is plastic that helps it have it form.
Another one of the materials is plaster which makes the inside and outside of it.
The last material is rubber has the flexibility of stretching.
Properties of the major materials
Plastic: chemical structure, helps stability, hard
Plaster: when you mix water, it becomes hard, its durable, resistant to temperature and water which is helpful because the rain outside weather won’t affect it.
Rubber: stretchy, elastic, flexible, tough, solid, soft, sticky as the temperature rises, insoluble in water, alcohol, acetone, dilute acids, alkalis.
History of the kicking tee
1988 NCAA banned the kicking tee which was requiring kicks from the ground.
1993 NCAA narrowed distance between the hash mark to 40 feet.
The kicking tee was differ today use as for youth, college, and NFL pro kickers of football.
